I tried to contact old friends from GC pso recently and they are all nostalgic as hell, is everyone like this? I thought it was only a few people but gawd, its like everyone who played the game cant ever forget how great it was

It is hard to be nostalgic if one has not played a later game. Not everyone who plays PSO is nostalgic. Only a small portion is. From what I have seen, more people just like the game.

Take me for example. I never played PSU, so it is hard to be nostalgic. I still play PSO on a constant basis.

It was my first online game, and I basically wasted away the summer of 03 playing the Gamecube version. Best summer ever.

I play PSO because I enjoy it. I enjoy everything about it. The gameplay, the graphics, the story, the monsters, the weapons, everything.

I play PSU and experience nostalgia quite a bit.

It's a shame I can no longer connect on PSOGC for online play since my dial-up adaptor doesn't work with my highspeed http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Yuo can't really grow nostalgic for a game you only put down for a week or two at a time tops, so only while I play PSU.

Nostalgia = A feeling of rememberance. A longing for the past.

I started in 01 and have never taken a break so I can't be nostalgic. I find I get board in PSU pretty easily and have to play it in small amounts.

Now, now. I'm just the crack dealer, Wazzy. What you do with it once you buy it is your own business.

It's not nostalgic to me. I just play PSO when I get bored of playing PSU. And the same vice versa.

Maybe I wasn't too specific enough? >_> I don't actually get bored of PSU, but I just can't play many hours in a row on it.

I began playing pso in 01 also. Long time, i do miss playing online. PSU is good but it just does'nt capture me like PSO has and still does.

I'm feeling increasingly more nostalgic for PSO. I'm enjoying PSU but nowhere near as much as i did for PSO back in the golden age of the game. Even in its twighlight years did I enjoy PSO more than PSU, even when numbers were dwindling and my friends began to dissapear. I think it's time to make an appearance again on BB on a cetain server we all know of.

Now that I have a level 70 raider (bt woot woot) and a few other high level toons on WoW, I still don't enjoy it as much as I did PSO. The game was something truly special, with qualities I can't quite pin down, but were surely there. Even though I play WoW with a few real-life buddies and have some good times, I had an absolute blast with the old crew from TsTHQ and the Moon Hunters...

I am often quoted as saying, "If Sega released an updated version of PSO, I'd quit World of Warcrack as fast as it takes to deactivate my account."

There's a tricky work-around for that, if you've got a modem in your computer. The basic idea is that you trick the GC modem into dialing out, and the PC modem into picking up. At that point, the PC modem can serve the internet to the GameCube. You will probably need a device called a Line Simulator.

what was it exactly? I remeber the community was awesome. in fact I made a lifelong friend there about 4 years ago. but what was it that captured people in pso? I never stop wondering about taht.
