View Full Version : What is Blue Burst?

I've been living under a rock. Or rather, in Iraq (all the same).

I played the GCN version of PSO a few years back with some friends (completely offline) and loved it. I heard that the servers were shut down though, so any hopes of me going online with PSO dissipated with that and I eventually sold my GCN along with PSO.

I play PSU to death nowadays, but cant help missing PSO. The only system I have is 360, so that narrows it down to computer.

Two questions:
1. What the heck is blue burst?
2. Is there a PSO for PC's?

Most likely I would only be playing offline, unless of course by some odd chance there are still servers out there.

1.) Blue Burst is a PC-only version of Episode I and II. It also includes the exclusive Episode IV, which includes the crater and subterranean desert.

2.) See above.

EDIT: Here's a link for more info:

also BB is online only, right? and the servers are being shut down, right?

But there are private servers that cannot be talked about here.

Yes, you can play PSO BB on the private servers, but I can't say anything else. BB requires you to connect to the internet to play, although you can start a game in "Solo Mode", which has all the features of offline, but with benefit of being able to chat with your friends while you do offline quests.

There's also something called, simply, PSO PC, which is a port of PSO v2 DC to the PC. It features a true offline mode, but none of the EPII or IV content, of course. It's also a fairly inferior port, but it's out there.

Indeed, Iniquity. Not all is lost, though.

There are servers that are not to be mentioned by name. Pay attention to the things people say, and a well-aimed PM might get you the information you need for an effective Google search.

You begin running as soon as you start moving your character in Blue Burst, instead of walking for five steps first.
