I was just curious to see what bands any of you saw live this year or anytime in your life...

This year I saw alot of cool bands since im in a band I got to meet/watch alot of cool bands.

-Saw Incubus early in the year.

-Warped Tour-Thursday, The Used, Good Charlette, New Found Glory, etc.

-Undenaibly the best I saw this year: Tool

-Weezer; close but didnt top tool.

My brother (drummer) got to meet the guys from Thursday (I got one of their guitar strings), Sugarcult (WT) took a picture of us/the crowd all throwing our middle fingers in the air, at Incubus our friend was an Incubus stage crewman (man did they smoke weed!) so he gave us a meeting.

Tool I didnt care if we met them, because I shitted myself after that show...TOOL ROCKS

The best moment has to be my bro's best friend (not in the band though) the night before the warped tour the warped tour people were getting some fundamentals in Wal-Mart at like 3AM, my/his friend ran into the boys of good charlette and got into a quick conversation....

My bros friend wears these pluggs with a diamond in the center, and Benji (the guitar player) asked if he could buy them from him! He bought them off, and if you see the LIFESTYLES OF THE RICH AND FAMOUS video, Benji is wearing them!

(I will see Radiohead live before I die)

um... I want to go see the Frogs in St. Paul next month.

I kinda wanted to see Eyes Adrift in Madison last year but everyone else was going to a different show like 2 days later and didn't want to go with.

Edit:
And I saw The Supersmashers a couple weeks ago, they were the best at the show but got second place.

I really want to see Radiohead also.

I only know Radiohead from those. O_o

Are those like techno bands?

I've been to two Aerosmith concerts and a Metallica concert.

The three-hours of driving each way to both of the Aerosmith concerts and the seven-hour each way drives to and from the Metallica concert were well worth it.

The Supersmashers are a local band and haven't updated their site in forever, they are getting a new site soon I hear.

Freaky? How about sitting next to a goth in pure black...with a picture of a guy with his brains on the sidewalk? (tool) http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Whoever said they saw Metallica live is blessed.

They are one of the greatest live bands of ALL time.

I've seen Mary Prankster three times.. once in '98 (yikes) and twice in '02. She's from Balitmore, so she's... semi-local, I guess.
I saw They Might Be Giants once, also in '98 (Mary Prankster was one of the opening bands--double w00t).

I almost got to go to Warped Tour this past year, but it didn't work out >:

Hahahaha, I saw Pink once, too! Went along with a friend who was a lot more into her than I was... it was pretty damned amusing, all in all.

I also saw some random punk bands at some show I went to with my sister... I can't even remember the names of any of them. The main singer in one of them was this chick who got up on the stage and yelled "FUCK SKIRTS WITH POCKETS!" :o
It was also very amusing, mainly due to the fact that there were lesbians everywhere. Seriously.

I'll decide to take that as a compliment.

BTW...Metallica has a new CD coming out soon.

(LETS not forget Zwan's debut album is coming out on the 28th! ie Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlins new band; AKA the smashing pumpkins!)

What is wrong with "goths"...?

Vantamiath
Jan 20, 2003, 10:02 PM
Nothing to some people. But I dont hang around "them," so I guess it just made me uncomfortable. Just like a goth might be uncomfortable sitting next to a priest.

Goths are just normal people who dress differently. Its more of a state of mind that anything. I am considered a "goth" and I don't find myself intimidating to anyone, unless they are ignorant enough to believe that just because a person looks "weird" means he is crazy or something.

If you can handle the pit, see Pantera. Any band can have a producer polish their studio work, but to do it live, that's what makes a band good.

I saw the Tool show, and yes, it was amazing.

I saw Leo Kottke live, which was sweet; and a local band called Scatter, which was also sweet.

And then the symphonies, Beethoven's Fourth and Bach's B Minor Mass.
