Earth and Outworld, Life-line connecting them(via Mortal Kombat in the middle, no less.), the eyes remind me of what you'd see if Sub Zero/Scorpion/Ermac/etc were to look at you. The animals? Animality, anyone?

Makes sense to me, but then I was into the games long ago when they had alot of controversy about the violence/gore.

Nothing was funnier than watching a news broadcast question the games morals by allowing you to rip out the spine of your enemy via SubZero's finishing move...and then the news broadcast was showing you footage of all the blood and then brought up the full fatality of Sub Zero offing Lui Kang; sans any kind of censorship. =]

It's terrible that kids play this...but we'll put it on public TV. =D

oh I know!!! I was watching the news when it MK2 came out "will this game cause your kid to become violent?" then it went to a clip of baraka slicing someone in half. I was like "yeah sure just show the fatality" lol

lol, that's the first thing I thought too! I'd actually prefer the original characters, after all...anyone remember any of the new characters??? you know, from the last 5 years of MK games.. They kinda lost me when they put that uncle Fester magician in there.

yes, that guy! With some tweeking he could look cool.... ok alot of tweeking.. anyway, I played armageddon once and the character creation mode is cool, you can select which moves you want and so on, (made a picture perfect He-Man) but this does not a great game make - and all the the newly developer-added characters are just like 'generic shaolin guy' or 'another ninja girl and this time she is in yellow!' eh... such a cool create-a-character mode but the basic gameplay is snapped.

I think fighting games are the one genre that should'nt add too much bullshit to the way they're played. No, I don't want to have an overcharge bar, no I don't want to have counter-counter-counter moves. Let me just beat the fuck out of the other guy and then do a neat fatality that ends with his corpse laying in a pool of its own fluids.

Update the graphics, add characters, add content, but don't fuck with the mechanics too much.

If I enjoyed the original, heres an idea, lets not deter too much from that.

etc.

Go through and replace the numbers with letters.
