I was never big into legos, but there are some really creative people out there.

Toys R' Us Times Square has a Lego model of the empire state building. Check it out (http://www.travbuddy.com/photos_popup.php?pid=306676) http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I haven't touched Lego in years, just doesn't interest me.

I still have some of my Legos. I need to get more, though. I know Woodfield Mall (quite a ways from my home) has a Lego Store.

I already decided to get that one, and the Rogue Shadow.

I have to get more; all I had were a knockoff brand of legos. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cry.gif

I always made houses with my legos. I liked to make the houses have some sort of weird twist like on one of the houses there is a small hole where you can stick a Lego gun/rifle &whenever anyone came to the door they would get shot.

I reeenacted Lego Island from the PC game. x]

Man... I LOVED Legos back in the day. You could build ANYTHING with em. I still have a few tubs full of em at my Grandma's house that I get out every once in a while when I'm up there.

Funny though... I stopped playing with em right about the time they introduced the Bionicles and all these cool new Star Wars and other movie-themed sets...

The majority of legos I have still are mostly just the simple pieces, don't really have a lot of those neat see through/weird angled pieces. I mostly just made little houses and cars back in the day.

I actually still have one of those sweet lego briefcases they sold back then: http://apocalypse-tribe.com/rdfox/legocase.jpg

I may make something again for s&g's, who knows, haha.

Legos are amazing.

If you're a parent and you don't give your kid Legos at some point (assuming it's viable), then you're doing it wrong.

Such a vessel for creativity deserves some sort of award. Legos also sort of follow the adage from GDC08: "Dude, its code. We can do anything."

Except, you know, Legos.

I liked them a lot as a kid, my two biggest projects being some sort of black choper and a foot high yoda. It's been years since i built them, and both were somehow dropped and shattered a long time ago. After Lego sucked itself up in the bionicle nonsense, I started to care less and less. Now the only time I build anything is when my brothers need me to do it. Though they usually get the freaking bionicle sets, the shit rapes my fingers.

Legos, K'nex, Tinker Toys, Toobers and Zots, Girders and Panels... ah, nostalgia. Legos were hell to step on, but K'nex did a number on the finger tips. And, you know, each building toy had its purpose (wooden building blocks, for example, are the best thing to throw at your sibling(s) for a K.O.), though I think we ended up playing with box lids and blankets to make forts more than anything else.
I wish I could remember the name of these particular things we had: most of the components were parts like motors and gears housed in clear plastic spheres that you could connect together--also, buoyant yellow spheres and propellors and such, so you could make submarines and boats etc. Pretty cool stuff.
Oh, and puzzles! I still love jigsaw puzzles, but Puzz-3d was annoying because of the mess from all the little excess foam bits.
And Kent's post reminds me of PC Logo, too, along with all those other creative programs I enjoyed as a youngster.

Damnit, all this talk makes me wish I had a big refridgerator box to go "sledding" down the stairs or something equally kidtastic. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_clown.gif

I think the name was Capsela. I had a box of those, too. I guess they weren't as popular as Legos, K'nex, and the like, since I don't know any of my other friends or relatives who had them. =/

Right you are, Tetsaru. Capsela sets were pretty cool, but my creations were usually a failure, as I recall. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Extreme.

Me and my bro's did that with the bunk bed mattresses Christmas morning before the parents got up.

Made an inferior Lego diorama of my Middle School once. Inferior to a classmate who did one with 2 matching colors, mine was all over the place from a bucket full, a last minute deal - unplanned, no new pieces bought. Mine had every classroom numbered though. Left it there at school and never took it back home.

I have a bucket of Lego bricks that I've had since I was like 4. I've been meaning to go to the Lego Store and get a couple of pounds of assorted bricks, but time and money haven't allowed me the chance. I have some plans to make something noteworthy.

I remember when I was little, I'd always get in trouble with my babysitter for building swords out of tinker toys. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

No joke.
