What exactly does STA do for you? I've heard it reduces SEs from landing on your character but is that it?

Yep, that's it.

Note that this includes Megids "incapacitate SE".

Also note that nothing quite helps prevent SE as an outright resist. CASTs get a stamina boost off their SUV units (that's what the End. stat on them stands for) but it certainly doesn't stop you from getting incapacitated, frozen, burned, etc.

if you raise the STA high enough, it will block certain levels of the SE

That is what I am working towards, my end as of now is 20, and well megid does not kill me very often but it still happens once in a great while, I went a whole mission of motherbrain getting megid'd probably 20+ times and didnt die once, could be luck or that 20 end I have.

Is there some kind of chart for this?

21 STA used to stop barta freeze too, but ever since they changed the SE rates in AotI, STA is useless outside of deljeban megid.

I'm curious as well. I've been wondering for a while exactly how much STA is needed to block a certain level SE (if possible).

Surely someone could navigate the JP Wiki for such info?

My FF gets hit by SEs over twice as much as my Fortegunner, and the STA difference is only 3 >_>

STA is a very important stat.

De Colte Line anybody? I know it kills your DFP/MST, but for 20 extra stamina... It's worth it. I'd definately say you'd be impervious to Megid, though I've gotten poison/burn inflicted on me...meh <.< oh yeah, lets not forget the +300evp you get http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

sure...if you don't mind the pure damage of megid killing you.

dc534

I dont know, sure megid is damaging but I take about 120 damage from lvl 120 deljaban megid. I run mother brain alot and the dogs take of 97 damage while the deljaban megid hits around 120. Of course I am wearing a hard stamina, delette line 46% dark which gives another plus 2 end, and I am playing as a 130 human fighgunner lvl 12 fighgunner. I have only been killed once by the megid in the last 6 runs I just did, and it was because I did not heal myself and about 5 of them hit me at once so it was the damage that killed me not the instant kill factor.

Forgot to add that I am using a legsless rainbow which gives me 18% elemental boost to my armor, overall I am pretty hard to take down on that mission, it is only when I face the laser cannon guys and am to lazy to switch to the 50% lightning storm line is when I die. Those cannon guys hit me for like 660 when not wearing storm line but as soon as I put it on they only hit me for 276, and then I just laugh at them.

I take 700 damage from 'sword' Jarba Megid http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
That's with neutral shield, though.

But yeah, Megid can be very damaging.

Zasharogan froze me when i had 32 STA =/

Hrith
Apr 23, 2008, 07:39 AM
What? that has to be some really h4x SE, ot maybe you did not really have 32 STA?

I know some monsters have Lv5 SEs, but even then, I'd have imagined 32 STA to be enough >_>

SabZero
Apr 23, 2008, 09:08 AM
32 or 22? How do you get to 32?!

I think they changed some monster SE to need something like 25 STA to resist. Figures they don't want to make resist units totally obsolete.

32 is easy. As was mentioned before, try De Colte Line (http://www.pso-world.com/items/psu/2/1637/de_colte_line/).
