ch of Rockstar Games' Bully on the Xbox 360 was marred by a bevy of crash bugs and other glitches. With this morning's heavily anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto IV for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Rockstar finds itself dealing with still more troubleshooting trouble, as online forums are buzzing with reports of crashes.

Combing through crash threads on the Xbox.com forums, Sony's official message boards, GameSpot, and the NeoGAF forums, it seems that the issues are affecting PlayStation 3 users more frequently, although gamers with both systems are reporting problems. Reports of crashes on the 60GB version of the PS3 hardware are the most common, and tech support advice like deleting and re-installing the game doesn't appear to address the issue effectively.

As of press time, Rockstar has not responded to requests for comment. A representative with Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive declined to comment on the issue.

It's not like other massively critically acclaimed video games shipped with no bugs. Early pressings of Ocarina of Time had bugs and glitches out the ass...although, most of them were more "out-of-the-way" than the issues with GTAIV, I suppose.

From what I've heard, when you step off the boat/plane from another country with your only redeeming ability in life to be that of killing people or peddling drugs, and have yet to find work; yeah you tend to be and look homeless. =]

And this is kinda/sorta what happens when people rush their reviews out the door as quickly as they can, they don't really play the game through as much as it should be played through(over the span of numerous weeks, not days) to give an honest run-down of its longevity and workmanship.

Thus maybe in the day or two that someone played the game and gave a review of 10/10, the game only froze afew times and they prolly figured "Well, was prolly just my system acting up.." Whereas if they'd have played the game consistently for afew weeks they'd see "oh..thats not my system, it's the game."

Oh well, ha-ha anyway.

Yea the thing is that those didnt recieve a score of 10/10 [b][i]GTA:4 had the freezing issue during review which means it's not a 10

I agree with you however game reviewers have multiple systems at their disposal, also several other games have had game Cons:Like game periodicly freezes from time to time etc printed so .....

Youre also right it might have a higher crash rate for PS owners with an original 60GB unit,im sure that the original 360's are crashing also!!! oh nevermind thats right Crash & RROD is the normal for that system.

I'd love to see a commercial game that's completely bug-free.

Bonus points if it's multiplatform, made by Sonic Team, or online. Epic bonus points if it's on a console that has seen multiple hardware and firmware iterations over its lifetime. :/

I never experienced any crashing. and in many
sessions no noticable lag at all.

this game does deserve a 10 to those who
are enjoying this game online more than any other game
(like me) and creative enough to have fun with it
to its fullest. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

10 doesn't mean perfect. Ocarina of Time IS NOT perfect.

10 just partially means it raises the bar for the
genre its aiming towards improving. And it also
means that it's the best game for people who
are interested in that type of gameplay. and many
would agree.

ya some would disagree, but those are the people
who are the losers and missing out
because they could never enjoy GTAIV like many do,
especially online. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Someone's a little touchy.

eXo
Apr 30, 2008, 01:16 PM
No im not touchy at all but i really can stand it when it's something as simple as it clearly being a take 2 GTA:issue and the 360 fanboys always try to make everything into a system war sigh get real hahaha. Thats just like when fans of a professional sports team celebrate like crazy because they have the #1 seed and beat the #8 seed it's like come on youre suppose to. IMo the same applies to the 360,wii & PS3 the 360 has been out for a year+ longer therefore if it didnt have more of the bugs worked out then something is seriously wrong in M$ HQ.

Original hardware of new technology tends to have issues - it's new technology.

At least Microsoft put a three year warranty extension on their systems, in case of internal hardware failure from the early chip designs (a.k.a. Red Ring of Death). And don't you dare try and say that it's the Xbox fanboys who are the only ones trying to turn things like this into console wars - we all know for a fact that's not the case (http://www.sonydefenseforce.com).

I agree i didnt say that it's xbox fan boys only trying to change things but what i was pointing out is the fact that i posted general information regarding a GTA:4 a issue universal issue yet with in like 4 p[ost people say oh umm well it's worst on on either the 360 or ps3 the problem is a problem is what i am saying.

Pointing out is the fact that i posted general information regarding a GTA:4universal issue yet with in like the first reply someone said that it's rediculous i dont know maybe it's just me because im a gamer but people act like multiple systems all cant have good points and bad point's.

The majority of people base their opinions off of random hear/say.

And i just visted that site wtf is that it looks's like your typical 12 year old FTOM fanboy site/ gossip blog if you ask me, i tend to stry away from the negectivity surrounding biais gaming it's a differience between critizing a console and badmouthing it for no apparent reason.

My intentions are always to post something in a positive manner however,it happens especially when people attempt to deviate off topic.

In all fairness to my original intentions conversation surrounding, the performance of the next gen consoles should have never been included. An example: of an more appropreiate response would have been along the lines of.

(1) Wow well maybe the reviewers didnt experience this problem.

or

(2)Well yes this is diffinatly a small blemish but hopfully nothing that a patch or two cant correct.
