I found a stockpile of my old sketches while moving shit around in storage, some of which were actually good IMO. And this time, I have a fully functioning scanner! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

My Photoshopped version of the last picture has finally been completed.

That one burst, hm.. Whatif it were absent from the image.

I really like the concept though!

More awesome than I could have hoped for clicking this thread on a whim. Very cool.

I put it there mainly to give the HUcast an effect of a glowing eye, as if to say he's been angered or annoyed by the Booma. But, here's the version you were speculating about; nothing a quick Photoshopping couldn't fix.

Also, thanks for the comments, everyone. Hopefully I can renew my passion for drawing soon.

That "shine of the hucast" could be done by giving the tiniest bit of white in the yellow.

Itd probably work better larger that way though.

This way i do like at its current size.

The only issue I see is that you don't like drawing eyes :[

Could that possibly be Alucard, cause that first one looks shit loads like him. On a non-art related note... WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN... AGAIN!

Yes, I'll admit it to be true, I get lazy after a small while of drawing, so I cut corners by shading body parts to prevent the need to fill it in with details. D:

Yes, it is Alucard. Congratulations, you've successfully answered the riddle! Now come on down to recieve... YOUR NEW CAR! *applause + crowd cheering*

Anyhow, I've been somewhat internet-less for a while. In order to solve that dilemma, I increased my wireless router's range with a USB-Wifi plug stuck through the middle of a strainer. It boosted my signal like a satellite dish, allowing me to get back online.

Oh, also, I'll have a new piece up sometime today. I think it to be the best work I've done so far.
Here's a hint as to what it is: "HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!"

I have to say that's brilliant how you added the batman symbol in the Joker's throat!

I'm having conflicted feelings at the moment. Should I try my hand at inking it and risking the ruin of the picture, or leave it as is?

Sord
May 26, 2008, 06:17 PM
I personally prefer no ink

Ma_Navu
May 26, 2008, 08:57 PM
So that's two for not inking it and one for it.

Yes, I counted myself twice, once for each side.

Well, Navu, when you ink you need a lightbox OR a glass table with a lamp underneath. You then use that to trace the original drawing with ink and therefor you don't risk ruining the original :]

Awesome, I need things I don't have. :D

I don't remember who did it as it was years ago, but I know there was someone one here once that had a CRT, flipped it on it's back, and used the screeb as their lght table. Course, most people have flatscreens nowadays, applying pressure isn't an option there ;/

awesome dude, you have a knack for crosshatch

Ma_Navu
Jun 7, 2008, 11:25 AM
I blame the cross-hatching success on my new pen. Depending on the angle on which it's pressed onto the paper, the lines can become thin and inconsistent from time to time; I think it works very well in this work. :D

I feel like a sexist now: this is my first attempt to draw a female. Didn't come out anywhere as good as I thought it would. :/

You could always do what I do if I want to ink something... Scan the original piece, and make copies of it after darkening it slightly on Photoshop to see the pencil better. I have really shaky hands, so I dare not ink on an original piece of mine. =/

I really like your art though. I LOVE your cross-hatching. *.* <3

I've been inking a majority of my work, I just dare not do anything to the "Joker" image; it looks good as is.

Also, thanks for the complements. Seems as though many like my cross-hatching. :D

Looks very nice, although the hatching is more like texturing since the lightsource and shapes are not clearly defined. Nice none the less. ^^

The fact that it came out the way it did, I'm happy. Originally, I just started doodling, and this was the end result. Wasn't thinking about shading or lightsources.

Thanks for the input, though.
