How to determine shop pricing?

How do you determine what the price of items you sell in your shop should be? i always wanted to know...cuz im pretty sure ive sold some good items way less than i should have...but i was worried that they wouldn't get sold if i put em too high. I sold a 5/5 Halarod for 500k...im pretty sure that has gotta be cheap for a 5/5 rod but i really dunno.

If the item is sold by other players, I go 5-10% lower than the lowest price to sell faster. If an NPC sells the item, I go at least 25% lower.

Just use the conditional shop search and sort by price. If you're selling an item with an elemental percent you should sort by % and compare it to similar ones. Like Schubalts said, if you want to sell faster you should price a little bit below the competition.
