This is a shocking disappointment in my opinion, i didnt go to see this movie however i expected it to do much better considering the amount of hype surrounding it. However i personally contribte alot of this lack of success to dont go messing with the Zohan, because the initial comedic feeling is very similar.

:-? Michael Myers in various roles and Verne Troye as a little person has already been done before, and people would rather see something new (though, ironically, the #1 this week is based off an old show).

I'm sad to hear that although it doesn't come as a big shock to me. As much as I like Mike Myers, this wasn't one of the movies I was looking forward to seeing this year, I don't even know if it is out in Europe yet ( I don't think this movie has gotten any hype or build up at all over here ). I think it kind of got lost in the shuffle with all the Hollywood blockbusters that come out this time of year ( Iron Man, Incerdible Hulk, Hellboy 2, Batman, etc ).

Seeing the previews just really didn't do much for me, it almost came off as Borat-like. Didn't seem like the movie would go beyond one-liners and such, but I can't judge because I obviously didn't see the movie. Apparently, others thought the same given the box office values this weekend.
Besides, Get Smart wins. <3 Steve Carrell.

Get Smart looks kinda stupid to me. I like Steve Carrell and all but the premise of the movie just seems tired and stupid.

I took my kids to see Kung Fu Panda and laughed my ass off for quite a bit of the film, Dreamworks animation ftw. I wasn't expecting much from it, the premise seemed sorta lame, but they did the right things right and I was owned.

Its because the movie was pretty much just Austin Powers' jokes all over again.

I saw the previews and hated it from the start. It looked pretty lame and yeah, it did just look like a recycled Austin Powers movie. (Wouldn't mind another one of those as long as it didn't suck, though)

I can see how this movie would do poorly, and agree that it just kind of looked like another Austin Powers. If people watch a movie preview and feel like they've already seen everything the movie has to offer, I don't think that generally creates an urge to rush out to the theatre on opening weekend.

Get Smart is the worst movie on that list. There is no justice.

The only problem with Get Smart was the lack of Don Adams, R.I.P.
