View Full Version : Its not universal ...

People where I come from (even the Democrats), believe the following:

Everybody universally supports the death penalty

Everybody universally loves the military

Everybody universally is in favor of small pro-business government

Anybody who disagrees is evil, and is everybody's worst enemy

...

It isn't universal. Some people just live here in the states and are just thrown into it ... most people who live where I live never met anybody who disagreed on any of those stances in your ENTIRE life, that includes Democrats that live here. Virtually everybody would hate, yell at, and possibly even assault (perhaps murder), anybody that disagreed with them on those stances (especially the first 2). Its impossible to live here and disagree with those stances; anybody who does would have to stay indoors all day and would never have any local friends as there is nobody in my neighborhood that would ever tolerate a disagreement on those issues, just NOBODY - even if they say they don't care about politics or that they are Democrats, they still won't tolerate disagreements with what I posted above and would wish anybody who disagrees to be flogged or even killed.

For those of you who insist its universal, or insist that anybody that disagrees is evil: have you ever met anybody that disagreed with you on those stances, and have you ever lived in a more liberal area?

Me thinks, even most of the Democrats where I live would feel very conservative in a more liberal area (eg: Boston).

I'm not going to be politically active, that I can tell you. All political activity is on the right where I live, there is no such thing as another perspective, there are ZERO exceptions, absolutely none, other than myself and a couple members of my family, and a few old intellectuals that will be moving out soon.

That is the case where I live, you have to love the military in order to live here. If not, your in huge trouble, and won't be able to socialize with anybody because of it.

For what it's worth, there are strong arguments in favor of the Death Penalty (granted, there are also strong arguments against it), and in terms of "loving" the military, you owe the military, at the very least, your utmost respect; if not for the freedoms their bravery has bought for you, then for the horrors they endured for their families and friends back home. As for small, pro-business government, I am personally all for a government that is conducive to producing more jobs for the little guy, which means ensuring fair competition and not creating unnecessary taxes for employers.

Meira wins major awesome points. Nice to see someone else realizes the truth of the military.

(When I worked at/visited the theatre, I'd try to get people in the Service free tickets. :3 )

Based on your other treads that I've seen you show absolutely zero interest in seeing and understanding opinions and beliefs other than your own. You see yourself as having the only valid or correct beliefs and consider others who don't share such beliefs and convictions as having some sort of issue. It wouldn't kill you to at least put up some effort of your own to understand beliefs that equate to that of millions of other people, and not just Americans.

Well, my two best friends are in the military (one army, one marines), my favorite cousin is in the marines, and my grandfather was a sailor stationed at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed; his name is on the USS Arizona Memorial, in fact (mistakenly, I believe-- it doesn't seem likely that a second Chief Holger Earling Sorensen just happened to be stationed in the same bay, on a different ship). In addition, I tend to hang about in cigar shops, and you'd be surprised at how much of a cigar shop's patronage is built up of veterans. I've heard quite a few stories and outright testimonies, and quite frankly, anyone who refuses to respect the military is an ignorant person, who clearly does not have an understanding of the reality behind what soldiers go through, nor the reasons or motivations involved.

I am totally a conservative when it comes to business (leave it alone, unless they're Enron-ing/MCI-ing it up all over the place). However, Republicans tend to screw up the economy, so they're pretty bad at being conservatives. Hillary was probably the most conservative of the bunch. Don't think I'd mind an autocratic, but competent leader.

The anime I watch (Kashimashi) is sick and wrong, but that video is kool. Thats what 90% of the ppl in the states believe. I hopes this country gets nuked next world war. How dare it attack JP for its status towards women, when they all beat off to that crap. How do I be fond of anime girls, I'm so sick and evil, but for a man to slap a woman to death is kool and sexy.

FUCKING RAGE.

Abashi, you are doing no good posting such outlandish stuff. At this point, I can see why people are annoyed by you, you won't shut the hell up.

I don't know where you come up with these generalizations, but it needs to stop.

Until you can provide proof, and I mean beyond a doubt, that everyone in the US fucking A beats on women all the time, you are nothing more than an idiot. Congrats on watching a Youtube and using it as an example for a whole fucking country. Why not use Al Quida(or however it's spelled) as a whole representation for Iraq and the surrounding areas? They are not all bad people. You seem to think so highly of Japan, why not get a Youtube of kamikazees(forgot how that was spelled) and generalize them as suiciding morrons, eh?!

Mods, seriously, I don't know why you haven't banned or given this user a warning, but I'm requesting a lock for this topic. Shit like this is rediculous. No other user here is going around saying "I hope my country gets bombed(due to my ignorance)".

One more thing Abashi, if you hate your area, I suggest something obvious that you haven't gotten the guts or brains to do.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Requesting Lock.
