View Full Version : Armor has the OLD Elemental % calculation method?

I've noted that running with my first demo character, a Beast Hunter, that with a Fire 46% armor he takes a LOT less Fire-mob damage than with another armor with like 25+pts higher DFP, MST, etc.

Is it possible that the PSP game uses the old method of damage calculation?

For those who don't know, PSU early on used to figure damage taken like this:

(Purely simplified damages and %s here folks)

100pts Fire damage reduced by 46% Fire Armor = 54pts damage remaining,
-- which was only THEN applied to one's sum total DFP, MST, etc.

PSU NOW calculates this as follows:
Armor with 100DFP is x1.46 when taking fire damage.
The new "Fire"DFP is now 146, which is added to the PC's DFP.

This total is then removed from the incoming damage.
