DHCP

Ok I am using a bba for my gc and I am hooked up directly to the dsl modem, no router, just a cat 5 cable. I have everything set up. I have Automatically obtain an IP address (DHCP) selected, the dns are set, but I have DHCP hostname "Not Set" selected, no proxy server info either cause I don't use proxy, it lets me save but when I try to connect it says something like could not find DHCP Server is down or may not exist. WHAT SHOULD I DO I NEED HELP SOOOOOOO BAD. and it's late my isp is probably closed by now. HELP!!!

this might work, i won't get to try it till later because my parents will get pissed if i take the dsl modem from the computer.

Read entire post:
Unplug power to cable modem for 5 minutes then try again with the gamecube.
When you want to use the computer with the cable modem, you'll have to unplug the power to the cable modem once again.
