Stacking Has Long Term Effects?

Well as I haven't been getting any rare items in weeks, I was wondering if staking items has some long term effects after you stop stacking. I'm 100% sure that none of my characters have stacked items, I have shut off my Cube, but I just can't seem to get any items from a non-rare monster.

Also, don't stack in the first place then.

I haven't stacked in a while, the only time I did was before I knew you couldn't get rare items.

Which was about 100 levels ago.

There are no long term effects. If you drop the stacks (or bank them) turn off your GC and turn it back on, the rare drop rates are instantly back to normal.

Could some memory cards be "luckier" than others?

Because my friend used to do that, but now he finds drops like candy.
