how do weapon %s figure into melee damage calculation?

Lets say you only do about 500 damage(to a enemy that isnt the counterpart to the weapon's element)....and lets say its a sword....and your weapon is 50% ice.. you come across a fire creature.....since its the weakness you would do 50% more (or double) the damage. The same thing goes if you fought an ice creature... you would do 50%(or half) the normal damage.

I hope that answers your question.

If your talking about actually doing the calculation then you can look at this thread...

Or that one (http://pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151382).

And, by the way, going from a neutral weapon to a 50% one doesn't mean you double your damage.

First because +50% = x1.5, not x2
Second because elemental attributes are affected by a 0.75 modifier since AotI. So a 50% would truly mean a 0.75 * 0.5 = 0.375 -> 37.5% weapon.

Just to clear this. There's no attack here, just a clarification.

so in these calculations, the term "element" is the % of the weapon whether its a a gun or melee
