Hi and welcome to Aki's FanArt-Topic.

- Who I am? -
My name is Aki (or Aki 03) and I m an artist here in PSOW. I like to draw some PSO-, PSU- and Halo-related stuff, but I m draw pictures from other games or own things, too. My style is more Anime/Manga, but likely more black and white.

- Why a new Topic? -
Actually I got another Fanart-Topic, but I think its time for a new one, because I reach the holy 10.000 view-mark (thanks to all my fans :D) and to make a new one make sure, that I can change the title or do other things I cant do with my older one. Another reason is, that my old topic is more than 2 years old and I think its better to make a new one to reduce the huge amount of pages and replies.

- How about new requests? -
At the moment I m really busy, because I study, must work on pictures and several other things, so I dont take requests any more. When I finish 2 or 3 pictures, I can take new requests, maybe. Please understand, that I finish my works not in a specific order. Depending on my motivation and other things, I m starting with one request randomly. Please dont send me pm's like: "Why you dont start drawing on my picture" or "Work on my request first, pleeeeezeeeee".
When I accept new requests, please dont send me a pm like: "Draw my char!". When you want, that I draw you charakter, please send me a short (or long) description, some screenshots and (optional) additional wishes.

- Cool, how much does it cost? -
10.000$, please on my bank-account in Switzerland. Just kidding, its absolute free ; )
I dont want any items or meseta in PSU (I canceled my account) or other real life things.
And even when you ask me 1000-times, its still free.

- Do you stop drawing on my request? -
Dont worry, I dont cancel my work on other members picture, so dont stop looking in this topic. Please keep in mind, that I m post my works only in this topic! I m not away or something like that, I got only a new topic ^^.

Oh, this finished piece is awesome. :o
The colors are going well with the characters and the flowers everywhere in the background and foreground are a very nice addition.

BTW: I think there was something which went under with all those informations, so I made 2 new characters for the universe of PSO and PSU.
Please note: Those races are 100% my own design and you will never find them in any episode of the PSO or PSU-Universe :P
Its just playing with a few ideas which I kept in mind during my study or working in an office. I like to make new clothes, weapons and (off course) races for the Universe of Phantasy Star. So, please dont hurt me xD

Their names are "Saber" and "Faust". I want to add 2 more races, the Mithria and the Dels (you know who I mean), later. You will find the 2 new pictures in the first category ^^.

Do you remember of my picture for Neith? Well, it was good, but I must say, there were a few things which annoyed me. Today, I finished a second version which look more to the picture I want. The dark purple on the picture was not bad, but it was too dark, so I use some red and pink colours. You can find the newer version on my DA-Acount

You've already done two different colour variants- when I asked for the art I didn't even expect it coloured, so for you to do it twice is amazing, I'm really grateful of it too. If you want to do additional colours, feel free (and I'll be happy to see them XD), but I'm amazed with what you've done for me, so I really don't mind :lol:

I'd actually love to get this printed out professionally and framed, to be honest.

Its a bit weird: I upload a picture and the option for the printart appear, but when I drew a picture (like Eugy or Neith) there is no printArt option. What I m doing wrong???

Just a little tip:

Your linework always looks a bit TO sharp, which causes it to look aliased. I dunno what program you used, but in photoshop I always pick the shrinking option for smooth gradiants and not better reduction. If you don't have any other resize options, you can always apply a light gaussian blut before resizing.

I dont like to use gaussian blurs or other things, because the resize-option in gimp
will blur it automatically. When I see my picture with the windows-review, it has anti-aliasing,
but DA make the picture sharper than it is originally... .

@Damon: Many mistakes done in the past and the Beast pay this with their freedom (you remember, they were slaves...). Just say... Leporian and Mithra are friends, but both of them dislike the Beasts and thats the reason, why they dont are members of the Gurhal-Community.

Seems like you've got a big inspiration from FFXI for this race, right ? Same name, and almost same character design (similarity in the clothes as well).

No, no industrial stuff indeed, seemed more like a PSOadapted version of FFXI Mithra to me.
Normal female body with only cat ears along with supershort skirt and top is totally FFXI Mithra's style, that's what, I meant. :wacko:

@aki03: Yea true...but their has to be a way to open the beast up to where they can be accepted. Sure, we as a race payed for that sin, but...The hate is still skin deep. Damon's an adopted by a headmaster so he doesn't know about the wars that the races now...Its was for the best intentions. He's odd...He doesn't have the aggression as other beast and he's more timid as well. He tends to break the forth wall if you don't watch him but it only with good intentions...
Hey, Is their a Dark cast race that NOT D-cell related? I asked that to Kafie X but...He never answer. I notice he got nervous when I asked....o.O He's hiding something...

@rust: Speaking of that, I seen a Ms. Marshmallow Cast one day that's based off a Mother 3 (earthbound 2) character. It's no surprise that many characters are made after...well, other characters XD lol

Well, I saw you thread yesterday, but what do you mean with "weapon schematics"?

Well, by schematics, I simply mean an image or series of images that give me a better idea of what I'm carving than the screenshots do, and also give me an idea of some of the detailing, design and colour that would be put into the weapon/item. Basicaly, it doesn't need to be as detailed as the screenshots, I just have to be able to get a better idea of what the entire object looks like, and some of the less intricate designs on the weapon/item.

Edit: Apart from MAHU, I do not plan to make any more till closer to Christmas, but the mahu is very simple anyways.

It was a long time since I visited my topic at last. In a few days I will get more time (I m so busy with my study) and I hope I can finish one request again. At the moment I worked on Q's picture and my Zero Char (look at the new contest). Oh well, drawing my Zero Char was too much fun, so I finished the lineart today (at first, maybe I will change some things).
Even when it doesnt look so hard to draw this design, it was much harder as it shows. Try to take the Human-style clothes and mix it with the "old" PSO RAmarl-Style as a kind of crossing between PSZero and PSO -_-

Only a few things:
1. I hate the style of the Zero-Ramarl
2. I made my own style based on the looks of other PS Zero characters
3. Additionally I take the Zero-Style and mixed it with the PSO RAmarl-Style
4. I designed a new gunblade. Its a mixture of a one-handed-mechgun with a blade
5. This blade is kind of a large dagger
6 and last: When I would be a Ramarl in PS Zero, I would throw all (maybe all) my clothes away and make my own one, because the Zero-Ramarl sucks so much!!! I hate SEGA for that!!! >: (

I don't think it's the outfits themselves that have become kiddy, but more the art direction of the characters wearing them. The HUcaseal's certainly looking sharper than any incarnation of casts we've had thus far. I do like your take on the RAmarl outfit though.

It would be much better when you use only the best picture from ONE artist to make sure you make a TOP 10 ranking with 10 different artists and not only 4... .

The problem on DA is: PSO/PSU Fanarts are not so much like Super Mario, Naruto, Sonic, Dragon Ball, Halo (Cortanas everywhere...) and other favourite game or- anime-series.
Most of the DA members got only a "Favorite"-Gallery, but those of them never draw something or do other creative things there. The most important things on DA are "connections". Connections with friends or better: other artists!
I m glad, when I can see a comment which is not like "cool". To discuss is much better for me ^^.

On one side I hate DA, because I watched the same phenomenom you explained above. Doodles (awfull garbage made by a kid during a maths-lesson) about Sonic (the title say it must be Sonic) and this picture got more than 200 favs????????
But on the other side I saw so amazing works from really talented artists and met friends who helped me and give me a chance to improve myself. Even when not one work will appear when I searching for it (like searching for "PSU Arts"), DA is not the worst place to publish drawings and share them ^^

Well, yeah I noticed the same thing on dA as both of you even though I'm not anything close to active.

My PSU SPARTA sig got faved a good amount of times, but the one who got the most favs is Necrid from SCII, which is the most horrible piece I have ever made. Seriously, it's made very poorly.
All the original stuff (either CG or pen&paper) not being related to something in particular, which in most cases is far better done than my 'fanarts' stuff, nothing. I'm talking about being faved by random there ; obviously, the few friends I have who happen to be also on dA can tell the difference between shit and OK work.

Making Lineart is all but not boring... its more... hard xD
I mean, I see my pencil drawing and on this base I must draw the lineart. Sometimes I must make so many corrections, because I made any mistakes on my sketch (clothes, face and s.o.).
It costs so much time by taking some screenshots as reference and correct my mistakes -_-

BTW: You must told me, which color(s) do you prefer. I want to add a color later on your picture and I want to know which color I must use ^^.

All of my character have a backstory, and Aki's backstory is that there were originally 3 Akis created (one to specialize in guns, one for techs, and one for melee). But unfortunately the 3rd Aki was killed during their first mission, leaving only 2 left. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw your user name was "Aki03." What a funny coincidence! You're like the long-lost Aki sister we never had. ^^

Anyway, I really love your art style. I guess I'm not officially allowed to request until you finish your current works but I just want to let you know that I'm interested. Keep up the good work, and remember, you're not the only Aki around here! :D

*I also like the fact you kept the ears as her only beast features (I actually would kill the dog nose/mouth she has ingame if I could).

Claudia only uses fire, earth and light magic ; it depicts pretty well her personality (short-tempered, determined and protective). So if you could replace the lightning with something related to one of those three elements (fire seems like the easiest and most simple one to do, but whichever you prefer will do), it'd be awesome.
While I'm at it, when you will go for the color theme of the pic, I'd tend to go for some fiery red or orange, just because it matches with her hair color and most of the color scheme of her Mikumiko Set.

Hope I'm not being too picky about it. :lol:

Claudia only uses fire, earth and light magic ; it depicts pretty well her personality (short-tempered, determined and protective). So if you could replace the lightning with something related to one of those three elements (fire seems like the easiest and most simple one to do, but whichever you prefer will do), it'd be awesome.
While I'm at it, when you will go for the color theme of the pic, I'd tend to go for some fiery red or orange, just because it matches with her hair color and most of the color scheme of her Mikumiko Set.

Fire, huh? No problem ^^. I didnt know, which element you prefer, so add a lighting tech to her. But Fire wont be a problem for me and I think it will be better, when I will add some colors later ^^. Light wouldnt be a problem, too but to draw an Earth-based TECH is much harder, I think. I think orange would be the best solution and in case of that, Fire looks much better than a Light-based TECH (because Grantz is more white/green...).

I must say, I drew her with the typical beast face, but I must say I got not enough experience by drawing beasts and she looks more beautifull with a normal human-like face ^^.

I drew her with the normal GRM 7* Saber (only the siloutte). Which weapon do you prefer?

Well, its your choice. If you want a NEI-CLAW, I will draw it. Or do you like fighting with a whip, I will add a whip ^^. The Saber was only my idea (so thats why I wont add some details on this weapon) and its only a kind of free space to add some melee-weapons to show other people that Claudia is a Wartecher ^^.

For me, to add a claw is nothing special and not harder to draw than with a saber. But I think a whip could be look very good, but thats only my first imagination. So tell me, what should I do ^^.

There are pics of most of the whips in PSOW's item database, but like I said, whips designs are pretty bland.
They're all looking like a generic handle with a different color, and the whip itself is made of photons.
I think you'd better go with your own conception of what a PSU whip should look like, it can in no way be worse than the existing ones. :lol:

Well, I changed her eyes and her clothing a little bit. But those changes are not very dramatically ^^. So, its just taking the whole lineart and changed only a few little things ; )

After that, I will unlock it to take my last request (only one!). I have no idea how I handle this, when there are more than one user who want that I draw his/her char -_-

At the moment I know 2 or 3 people are waiting for the opening of the request status, but unfortuneately I can draw only one more picture. So... this could getting very hard -_-

The whole thing is: while I draw some requests, I see that my free time is going to running low. I mean, this was a lot of fun and if I had a chance, I want to continue drawing other chars, but at the end is havent enough time to taking more and more requests, especially I must finish several other projects.

The thread is renamed everytime an update (new draw or sketch) is done, so it's more easily noticeable when new posts are about new content or just replies to the last art.
It's also more convenient to find arts from the same artist in the same thread rather than having clone-thread for one draw at a time, especially when you post something new once a couple days.

If anything, the obvious number of pages in the thread should tell you it's not new, and there's an option to skip to the last post since your last visit.
Really, you're the only to be bothered by that (well, probably not, but you're the only one who wrote something about it).

In case if you refer the word "wasting lots of time for nothing" to the last year contest I hosted, then I will say it was not really a waste, but it was for the chance to show it to many more people, and try to win. (don't let it depress you too much, every game have winner and loser, but loser can become winner in later time as long as they try.) Not to mention, the more you spend time drawing, the more you improve anyway. same to draw by request I guess, I can see it improve you a lot more now, for instant "drawing face" skill is much better in Rush and Damon picture. I m sure you notice improvement yourself too if you compare to last year.

No no... Parum Panics is Damon's idea ; )
He plays for a space ball-team named "Parum Panics"... so I add some symbols and texts on his clothes to make his style unique ^^.
Beasts are not very hard to draw, but if you want that you char looks much better, you should remove such things like the typical beast-nose or change the mouth a little bit...

@Arika: I wont refering to anything. If I want to show my pictures to other people, I use DA. If I want to win something, I will play a game. But I dont need any contests to improve myself and when I spending time by drawing pictures, then it should go to people who really want them. I never saw a convenience by participating on a contest. I know you never forced me to anything but thats my oppinion to this.

Update: Yea, I play on the team but I'm wore myself out on practice today. The couch is allowing me to take the spring break off since the game was canceled due to the current weather conditions on Moatoub. I hadnt a training before, all things I know about drawing and coloring is teached by myself.
I only watch a few tutorials (faces, eyes, anatomy and s.o.) but at the end, I just learned it from myself (more than 7 years of tryings to improve my skills lol).

Sorry to all of you, who want his own picture. I m sure you would love it when I would draw them for you. But after this last request I need a break to finish other projects and refill my motivation, that I need to draw some other requests in the future ^^.

Convincing yourself that you are good and setting high goals is the first step at becoming good at something. (This goes for not only art). How can others ever take you serious, if you don't take yourself serious? How can other rely on you, if you don't show confidence?

Look at your own art in an objective way, and think of ways to improve. I know my own weak points when it comes to art, yet I am not complaining, but I am trying to find ways to improve, ask feedback of others.

Im busy here tring to catch up in a class...Crazy life...I had to do two paapers at the same time that was a total of 20 pages long and to add salt in the wounds the winter winda are BAD! But...dont worry in fine...

I think some kind of reddish color would be appropriate since Aki's main color has always been red. Both of them should probably be the same color since they're supposed to be identical.

OMG I love it so much!! XD It's all perfect.. the look, the color, the details, couldn't be better! The weapons look great and I like the bar code background, that was a nice touch. D-cells...Are an ancient dark cell materials from the D-cell creature. Its basically stronger than the SEED-cells because the seed-cells have weaker parts...Like humans who evolved from primitive lose certain capabilities like to crack hard walnuts, for example...But like human and the money species, There's...a missing link between the two...If that the case that is... That's why my head hurts when I try biology...XD

Its not exactly Ragol, the Forest Areas are not the same. And the enemies are not the same. The best example is Delnadian, a copy of the original "Delsaber" from PSO. The difference between both enemies are so huge. Delsaber got the typical "stripes" (like the other Ruins-Enemies), but Delnadian are just look like the mixture of SEED and D-Cell, but both enemies are still not the same! I played the MAG-Event, but at the End I see no real connection between PSU and PSO.

The connection you mean is SEGAs poor try to mix both games, which failed so much!
SEED? Goddamn, this is blasphemic! Its not Phantasy Star Online V2, its Phantasy Star Universe, a complete different game. There is actually NO CONNECTION! 50000 years is no reason!
And btw: Seed sucks, D-Cell rules! My opinion!

What you have to remember is that Phantasy Star is built on recurring themes. Wasn't Ryukross in an older Phantasy Star title? Falz/Force/Profound Darkness is a recurring boss. There's always going to be similarities, but I think the link between SEED and D-Cell is just in the way they act (like a virus).

In the end, the link is there, but was only added so that PSO players would give PSU a shot.

If the enemies in PSU were D-Cell they wouldn't die in one hit

Each of the missions aren't exactly the same.Of course, that apply to so many other RPG game that same place in ver 1 and ver 2 aren't always the exactly same.
they already tried to make them the same anyway, but the data was too small to return all the old enemies from original Ragol.
I know that so many people have complained them about it., but that is why people call them SEGAC.

Anyway, ST don't have to ask player opinion to write story at all. They want. Ragol = Ryucross, and it was confirmed in the official bible, so I m 100% sure. Even if all PSO fan don't want to believe, too bad ST is the only one who could decide it. I don't like it too actually :(

The control system was good and the level design was not bad.
Ok, the names of the enemies were pretty funny. I mean, I m fighting against those robots and those got names like "Sonnenblume" (eng: Sunflower) !?
The level-design would be better when they would add some plants or holographic elements like in PSO Ep. 2. But the music is just awesome, the controls are something new and protagonist is very stylish. Sure, it could be better, but its still a damn good game. So sad that no one want to make a sequel of it. Maybe with better graphics or a character editor. Different types of styles or weapons.
P.N. 03 (Not PNO 3) inspired me so much and I really love it, because its style is so unique... just amazing ; )

I have a friend who's a pretty big fan of it, which is how I wound up trying it in the first place. He plays the living crap out of it. I'd agree with a character generator of some sort, or at least allow for drastic changes in looks. The main char kind of looked like a tomb raider knockoff to me at some points, which I really didn't care for. Wonder if with today's tech if a sequel could be made, if you could use your own music and it would generate things based on that (whether it be play speed, enemies, whatever.) Though I would imagine it being a pain to create such a thing. Different dance styles to go along with it as well. One thing's for sure, the sparkles would probably be pretty as fuck on current gen.

I´m also a bit of an P.N 03 fan, it got great unique style.

Those trials missions though got very repetive..it were just a matter of time before i got burned out completely..so i never actually got that papillion suit.

Since then my memory had forgotten this game until now.
When i saw this tribute, it made me remember this great game again.
