Question about Story Mission

I remember when the mission, Farewell to Mother came out, there was a discussion about there being an alternate scene in the first story mission with finding a beat up lou bot. Then in Farewell to Mother part 2 you got a chance to use that same lou. I also remember ppl saying that doing this alternate part of the story mission wouldnt matter until we got chapter 6. Could anyone tell me a lil more about this?

There are several alternate scenes in the Episode 3 story missions...if you do them all, you can get Ethan's partner card in Chapter 6.
