Question about Grinding

Hey, I'm new to the forums here and have a question. If I save before and after each time I grind, can I still lose my weapon? I mean, if it fails, I'll restart. Will I still have the weapon, or would it auto-save or something?

in Phantasy Star Portable, the weapons never break with the exception of the meat weapons, but when those break, they just turn into another weapon.

Yep. No real weapon breaks. For the most part (exception of meat weapons that change themselves), what you get is a random variation of your bonuses for grinding a weapons. (For example. The attack power on the grind goes up 6 with one grind, 9 or 10 on another grind. You might say that the variation on the bonus is between 6 and 10). That's where a luck of the draw comes in. Because there is no breaking risk to grinding weapons, you no longer need to unequip a weapon to grind it.
