Hello - I'm currently in the middle of Chapter 9, level 40 and I am still using store-bought B-grade weapons.

Where can I find an upgrade, something like Durandal Replicas or the like. I've got a fair share of Kubara wood but I can't find synthesis recipes for anything worthwhile.

I'm only getting A ranks on the missions, though. Going through them fast...

You can find Durandal Replicas from Boomas in Hill of Spores B, specifically. The best overall way to get good stuff in Offline is to simply beat Story missions and unlock better stuff in the shops (remember to visit the shops on each planet, not the Colony shop).
