Made this to help out importers who have 0 knowledge of Japanese, Knowing what items and menu's are is much better then click and hope imo.

(My Japanese is very basic, I know hardly any kanji but I’m confident enouth with my kana to give semi accurate translations.)

Feel free to contribute images and translations, I will probably take images to all the items I have translated so far in case your computer can't read Japanese.

I presume this is the Jellen element. I've noticed there are tech elements in this version, and with this you can synthesise it to a weapon/armour (I've only seen weapons, not sure about armour) at the element shop to the right of the building at Dairon City.

Edit: Seems I was wrong about the tech elements, compared my translation of the item to a translation list on GameFaq's and it seems they too are confused as to what it is.

I just learned that even though they are the same weapons types, it doesn't mean the Photon Arts will be the same. Which is good cuz thats variety for you.

I would like to add the other spear art that let you fly on the spear and let you control it for a short period. I don't know how to read japanese so I'll call it Witch Glide XD

I'm curious, will you be including the weapon descriptions (not the stats) you get from pushing the y button? i.e. saber: a curved blade popular with blah blah.

That sounds like it'd take a while to add individual descriptions and to be fair most of the time its just flavor text with no real use. Best to spend more time charting all the different weapon elements, if I had to make a suggestion I'd say make that a priority, it'd be very useful to know them all. Well whatever you do, good work. :)

oh, no worries, if it wasn't part of your plan then don't bother with it. I was just wondering how extensive your list was gonna get. Great work by the way. but i have to admit, im really curious what the description for the spear from valkyria chronicles is. haha, i love that game.

dont say your wrong, because your right. i looked over the item and it does indeed add jellen LVL 1 ~ 5 to a weapon with NO element allready existing on it.

Adding to this topic:

One thing to note, and this is BIG:

No matter the weapon, Both PA and Effect are random at pickup.

ITT: I can have 7 copy of the same 6* saber on me, but 3 might have one PA, 2 another, and the last 2 without any at all, and every one of them can have different effects.
^^;

So when putting down weapon classes you need to mark down what are the POSSIBLE PA's in that weapon set ( like for claw there is the sweep and strike, or slam strike. ) and not that this weapon will ALWAYS get said PA.

Yeah, I know the password items always end up as the same thing, yet none of the 6*'s I'm finding are ( three copy of the H10 here, one with me using a grenade for fire breath, and 2 with me juggling it with fire. ).

I guess till people begin finding 7*'s we just will not be 100% sure...:-?

I dont think PAs are random as the weapon encyclopedia lists all weapons and when you press Y it shows you the default stats of the item and it shows some if the weapon has a PA or not. That makes me think that if the weapon encyclopedia lists a weapon as 'PA: None' that weapon will never have a PA.

I wish this was true..but No.

Many weapons I've found have not have solid PA's. I have so many copys of 1-5* weapons and every dupe shows that indeed the PA is not static.

Hell, I have 3 shield 5* one with the Cover, one with the Shield charge, and one w/o a PA at all, and the wiki says it only have the charge. The info floating around is faulty at this point.

The ONLY items I have found to be always the same for PA has been the password items.

...Then again saying that I have YET to find any 7* items This can change.

No not the wiki, I mean the actual Weapon Encyclopedia within the game. The Bottom option with the bank girl, then the Fourth option, from there just pick a weapon, if you check the status of the different weapons by pressing Y you can see it lists if they have a PA or not.

Update: Ok I think I have it figured out...

If the Weapon Encyclopedia lists a weapon with a specific PA that weapon will ALWAYS have that PA.

If the PA section is blank for that weapons Encyclopedia entry then that weapon can have ANY of the associated weapon type PAs on it when you find it.

So to sum up, an example:
The 1* "Saber" can have any PA a saber type weapon can have.
The 3* "Kuria Saber" will only ever have the saber PA "Force Ride".

Of course to prove this theory wrong all you need to do is find a weapon with a PA different to the listed PA. Then I'll be even more confused!

a few more elements:

スターン: Stun. random chance to stun an enemy for a short time
ダーク: Dark. Enemy accuracy down
ハート: Heart. Random chance to steal PP from an enemy on attack
ソウル: Soul. Not sure about this one. small chance to inflict instant death perhaps?

Yeah, Soul is most probalby istant death.

Amherst_Wind
Jan 3, 2009, 11:26 AM
There is already an instant death element, its Heaven.

As for Soul I'm not sure myself what it does... (but its not instant death) :p
It would be a big help if someone could translate what the JP Wiki says about Soul and Life.

For reference;

ヒート - Heat (Inflicts Burn)

アイス - Ice (Inflict Freeze)

スタン - Stun (Inflicts Stun)

ライト - Light (Inflicts Confuse)

ダーク - Dark (Inflicts Poison)

スロー - Slow (Inflicts Slow Status)

ヅェル - Jellen (Inflicts Jellen Status)

ザルア - Zalure (Inflicts Zalure Status)

ドロ— - Draw (% of damage of your attack received as hp)

ハート - Heart (% of damage of your attack received as PP)

エクス - Exp (Steal a % of experiance from the target)

メセタ - Meseta (Steal a % of meseta from the target)

ソウル - Soul 瀕死の時火力アップ。

リスク - Risk (Damage is boosted by x1.5 but you take 10% of that attack as damage)

ライフ - Life HPを消費して、威力UP。

セレブ - Celeb (Damage increased but lose Meseta with attacks)

カオス - Chaos (Inflicts ANY status, bad or good)

ヘブン - Heaven (Chance to instantly kill)

As a reminder none of these Elements are effective 100% with each attack. In other words if a Saber has Risk you wont do x1.5 damage with EVERY attack.

Hmmm, thats more in depth than google translater at least, thanks.
but the problem is after extensive testing I cant get Soul to kick in, I've got a pair of the blue boxing glove daggers with Soul Lv3 and my damage in critical (yellow) HP is always the same as my normal damage... needs more testing I guess ¬_¬

I think i'll wait till i don't need to have the game translated by a whole community to under stand it. besides if i import this great game i will only have to start from scratch when a US release arrives. nooo thank you. but i will add this is a good and informative forum for those who couldnt wait for an english copy (dang those japan people for only putting there language in thisgame) =(

リスク - Risk (Damage is boosted by x1.5 but you take 10% of that attack as damage)
ライフ - Life HPを消費して、威力UP。 <= this is zerk, drain hp to increase damage.

So this game has 2 different types of zerks now? But no spirit. D:
oh well celeb ftw! :D

ソウル - Soul 瀕死の時火力アップ。
karyoku is fire power...so when hp is low fire power is increased?....what's that mean ._. damage I assume?

I'd require a translation please... I was wondering what were the options of this sub-sub menu of the yellow-hair woman at the quest counter :

Player Record --> 1st one.

How does this title translate, and what are the options please? I know there are "Total ennemy killed" and "biggest chain", but I don't really get them all...

Same for "Ranking", I really don't have a clue what mean half of them :/.

Thank you!
