Hey, remember this?

See, there's this girl, and I asked her out, but she's got a BF. I need someone to kill him, but I can't give you any info at all. Good luck.

Well....... her BF was a jerk (he was yelling at her and such ), they broke up, she ran crying into the computer lab (where I was), cried on my shoulder (seriously), now we're together (and technically engaged) and as a result I won't be posting quite as much as I usually don't (b/c I don't actually post that much as is), but I want you guys to know that I love you all very much platonically and I will still post and enjoy FKantics. :trout:

When I saw this:

now we're together (and technically engaged)

My reaction was this:

Ohboy...

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but you're in high school and this is your first relationship, right?

[General Pepper] Goooood Luck! [/General Pepper]

Just had to fix that for you.

I'm simply saying that I remember what it was like to be in high school.

Actually, a good friend of mine is already married with a kid at the age of 20. Seriously, don't rush things.

Unless you were just joking, in which case, carry on.

I like to think that maybe this friend of yours is just in a really good place in life, but the way you mentioned it makes me think it was a shotgun wedding situation, which is a shame.

I'm not trying to knock true love or anything, but this was a pretty by-the-books thread here.

As if there have never been teenagers that got together and immediately pretended they were going to marry.

Actually fellas, I've known and been really close friends with her for about 4 years and we've been dating for about 1 month now, and I actually already kinda got her a ring (nothing super fancy, but it's real) and asked her to marry me via Taco-Bell-taco-sauce-packet that said "Will you marry me?" Yea, she thought it was adorable and actually we've promised each other that we are in love and will stay together forever. :D I don't care how old I am, no we're not just going to get married ASAP, no she's not pregnant, it'll be like a normal relationship, we'll wait a few years to get married, then elope to Canada and live with Geddy and the gang (not really), but nothing you say can change the fact that it's true love and we're meant for each other (no matter how "by-the-books" this sounds), we're not pretending about anything. We're in love. Be happy. Believe it.

:] That's sweet and I am supportive. However, without meaning to be discouraging, don't get your hopes so high right away. It's bad for you, and applies to all situations, particularly being in love.

Also, be sure to REALLY think about whether or not you want to spend your entire life with her. The passion and romance are fun now, but marriage quickly becomes less romance and more responsibility, and the bind between the two people is more intellectual than emotional.

At least, that's what I've observed. It's not like I've been married before.

Sorry you gotta be surrounded by cynical people, buddy.

Providing you have heart/soul/whatnot

And, that's debatable when it comes to US.

raikomaru40

CrimsomWolf
Jan 18, 2009, 05:13 PM
No.

By US I meant rest of FKL.

You're excluded from that, because for some reason, ye retained thy soul.

Now I win.

Sorry, but hos women are 1st in my life.

So all women are 1st in your life. All of them are equal in the 1st place spot in regards to how important ambiguous things are in your life. It doesn't matter who they are, so long as they're a woman.
