Rare monsters and items

I am new to the PSU universe but played thousands (yes thousands) or hours on PSO, and was wondering if there are rare monsters in this game or any PSU game. That made playing the same levels over and over worthwhile.

Also are there rare weapons and armors in the Phantasy Star Portable demos? I notice many uncommons but what are the rares if any, I expect a 1% drop rate or less, lol.

You can run into rappys in the demo. I'm guessing the game in general will have the rare enemies found in PSU, such as the jaggo as well as some rare versions of the of the Stateria (which are giant constructs) sub-bosses.

PSU and by extension PhSP doesn't have quite exactly the same rare item system as PSO's obvious red box system. The game red boxes anything over 6*s in quality. After a certain level pretty much everything you'll find will be rare in that sense. That said there are a few nonstandard finds even in the lower star ratings that could be considered rare in the traditional PSO-sense.
