Well, pretty obvious we won't be getting DLC for PSP now, however, the weapons seem to have found a way in anyway! Sodandy found a Bouquet in the demo off of De Ragan, a weapon from a previous downloadable mission, and I just found a pair of Sacred Dusters from one of the story missions in some boxes. (4th one, I believe. In the ice caves) Usually only obtainable from the Title or Unrecorded Order, a DLC mission as well.

What have you guys found in normal missions that's a new drop?

So are you sure about no DLC already?

if so, that would be very suck, because you could look around those thread on how fun are those DLC missions.

but consider how early the game is just released, I think we can't assume just yet?

I think it is safe to assume- people are obviously finding weapons which were only obtainable through DLC in the JP version. If they're dropping in the US version without the need for DLC, it doesn't look very likely at all we'll be seeing any- at least not the trade missions.

Feel free to prove me wrong Sega, but when 'DLC-only' weapons are dropping in the regular game, that's evidence enough for me to suggest we won't see any DLC missions.

How many of those actually drop in real game now?

Because He mentioned the only few things and that are from Demo.

In real game, nobody exploit everything yet.
So let's see if you guys get 3 Edel weapons drop from normal mission or not.

No, Chuck mentioned he found a Sacred Duster in the 4th Story mission (Demo only has one story mission), so he must mean the full game. The Bouquet drop was from the Demo, but even that didn't drop in the JP version of the demo, as far as I'm aware.

Also, note the lack of Weapon Badges in the US Demo- that's another clue.

did you checked all missions yet? if there might implement those DLC missions in the "unlock able mission way"?
For example, after you clear all missions that exist in original game, then the new misison appear without the need to download? (Optimistic way of thinking.)

If not, then PSP-US version is just the lazy lower grade version for people who can't read/listen and play JP PSP then? (pessimistic way of thinking)

How would they make the Edels drop tho? ..I hope it is not like ...drop from Dark fakis S.. <_>

I think the no DLC comes from the fact that there is no " Download" option in the start menu like there was on the J game.

If they rolled it in (like missions after you finish the storymode) that would be cool .. just as long as we get teh same content as the J game.

The missions themselves could, in theory, be added at a later date, but why bother going to the trouble of adding extra drops that weren't in the JP version of the game. All signs point to no DLC so far, but Sega may surprise us ( ).

I'm just hoping that if there truly is no DLC, that we have all or at least MOST of the DLC weapon drops (like uh...Lavis Cannon and Spread Needle?).

I'm still waiting on my copy of the game to arrive, so I can't add anything in terms of new drops yet.

so you want only weapons not missions then?

actually I see missing mission is more important than weapons, so I rly hate this no DLC.

but in your case, if you are fine as long as having all weapons, I guess PSP-US did the correct things then. there is no need to wait months by months to DL missions to get those weapons, but you could get all of them since released!! :D

Not once did I say I didn't want the missions. >_>

All I'm saying is that if we have the weapons (which were DLC on JP PSP), it's highly unlikely we'll see the missions with them included (especially trade missions).

Also, as someone pointed out, unless the game is patched (is that even possible on PSP?), there is no download option, unlike the JP version. If we get any DLC I'll be amazed.

Don't get me wrong though- I'd LOVE the DLC missions just as much as everyone else.

So download option completely remove? then I can think of it as only pessimistic version then >_<

This mean, only people who know JP can play the better version. people who can't read JP has no choice but to pay the same price for less content version.

Good point is that you can get weapons faster than JP ver.
Bad point (which is more important to me) so many mission are missing! (at least 10+)

It could be patched in theory, but it'd probably be more tedious for Sega. Killzone Liberation and one of the Socom games (Bravo 2 is the one I own) were patched for glitches (the latter) and to add in infrastructure mode multiplayer (the former).

But these titles had some access to Sony's servers from within the game prior to these updates. The patches are stored on the memory stick under the games category.

Since the US version of PSP has no way to access a server from the game, Sega would have to do one of two things: Release the missions directly via the PSN store (Which, if Sega was going to do, is probably the most plausible solution) or release a patch via the PSN store which would allow the US version access to the DLC servers.

How does the DLC work for the JP version? Are the missions individual files stored the memory stick? Or is it just one DLC file that gets updated with every new download?

If it's the first way, I'd be interested to see if the US version of the game would even acknowledge those files.

Here's what i've found in the Demo that's worthy of note:

(Kubara)
Spearc
Halva Rafagga
Twin harisen Fans
Twin Bouqets
Vahra Claw
Harisen Battle Fan
Mark III
Papillon Dance
Papillon Ciel(sp?)
Koltova Madog

(GRM)
Bullet Master
Hanzo
Death Dancer
Twin Crea Saber
Beam Gun

(Tenora Works)
Shag Azza

Just wondering if anybody else has gotten any of these(aside from the bouqet and battle fans).

There's no "DOWNLOAD" option in the start menu. How are we suppost to actually get the missions? Now please keep this thread on topic.

Actually, I got a laugh from this:

I transferred my JP characters to the US version, and get this.

Weapon badges are translated and full compatible. When I say compatible, though, there are no missions that use it, but it is in the game. Sad, huh?

To norris: that message was answered by Neith already.

TO zarode: When you transfer the JP files game, where did you put the DLC files? is there a way to make DLC compatible?

because "no DLC" really make me feel like not getting this game anymore.
(ask JP import ppl around, and everybody say the DLC missions are things that actually make the game more different to online game, because of the new contents that never try. Most of existed missions are just the same to online game, except weapons drop)

I'm pissed about this too, but just an fyi for people not involved in the PSP custom firmware scene. A few guys are already figuring out which files are the translated items lists and popping them on the PSP JP version. So you should be seeing a translated JP --> EN PSP game which means you can play the game and the DLC items if you so wish, but the DLC will still be in JP. Some of the DLC missions are fun and quite a few of them have tutorials already posted here.

But, you will need a custom firmware to even enjoy the file (and of course own both the JP and US version accordingly).

DLC weapons carry over, but not the missions. If someone could hack the file and make it compatible, I'm sure it would work. I bet the most you would have to change is game ID checker and some check sums.

Just to note, the Sacred Duster also dropped in story mode in the JP version.

Theoretically, we could still get DLC, via downloading on PS3/PC, but its extremely stupid to remove the 'download' option from the main menu if they were planning on giving it to us.

As mvffin said. So far there is no hard evidence yet, and the only reported drop changes so far appear to be a lack of Weapon Badges (although these are not needed for DLC as they were easily farmed from the first download mission too) and this single Bouquet report.

Edit: Oh wait... what about those Twin Bouquet/Harisen drops? Are those normal drops now too? >_>

There are tons of things that are dropping now that were exclusive to DLC in the JP version. I haven't found many myself but people are reporting getting Illuminus Coat for one thing.

The only people who think the US version will get DLC now must be wearing these... xD

I have a stupid question. Is it possible that the Japanese DLC missions are on the US UMD? The only reason why I am asking is because it looks like the developers of PSP made the effort to put some of the Japanese DLC weapons into the normal game, maybe they did the same with these missions and they are somewhere on the UMD.

If it is a stupid question then please don't flame me, I don't own a copy of PSP yet, I'm still waiting for it to arrive in the mail so I obviously haven't played the finsied game yet.

Seconded. I tried following the same exact instructions on the JP site. Then I tried changing the folder name to reflect the US release. Nada.

Yeah, I found the coat in the ice caves during the offline story mode... Of course my female beast could not wear it, GRRRR!

That's sad, Sega is playing it "safe" by taking out DLC, so if the game doesn't sell well, they don't have to waste money keeping up with DLC.
Maybe people can patch JP version with english?

Let's worry about making the file work, then translating it. It seems everything is built into the file though, so it shouldn't be too hard.

You can also get a Sacred Duster from obtaining a title. Not too sure which, I got it on the JP version. Another thing that I got in the US version that isn't obtainable in any of the free JP missions was a Formalwear, which I got in the Second mission, I think.

I just got two Soul Eaters from a spawn of Darbeleans, and it doesn't seem to be listed on PSUpedia.

Edit: Found a pair of Twin Distortions at Cost of Research S. Dropped in the boss boxes. Party leader for both of those drops was Fighmaster.
