I've read all about how to get him, but my question is: is it possible to kill him at level 44? I just tried fighting him and I beat the hell out of him, but he didn't die.

Do I need to be a higher level, or can I just try harder?

Unless you can do massive damage at lv44, I suggest lv your char up a bit more before taking on Tylor.

Level 44 you can only run 'C'.
'B' need Level 50.

Alfort Tylor from C-A is Level 95

I'm pretty sure If you are up to it. Spend like 15-20 mins for 1912 EXP

Alfort Tylor has 48,510hp.

He is susceptible to the burn SE which means it is possible to kill him at level 44 using any type which can use Burn Trap Gs.

Burn Level 3 does 1940 damage every 2 seconds 5 times.
Each Burn Trap G will do 9700 damage total in 10 seconds each.
Any burnable creature can be killed in under 50 seconds using 5 Burn Trap Gs.
