Ok, so yesterday, I get Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 for PS2. When I put it in, it says disc read error. I put in another purple bottom disc to see if that was the problem, and it workd fine. Then, I tried making sure it was extra clean, and still, no luck. Has this happened to any one else on this game or another purple bottomed game?

What I do when I continually get that error, I delete the PS2 system file on my memory card and restart the system. I never turn the switch off on the back though. It should remember all your settings(does for me) and should go back to normal. I've done this about three times in the past year and have had no problems.

Ok, I fixed it. My lens was dirty =. What I did was I took off the cover by unscrewing the the screws that are under the six squares on the bottom. Then, not having any precision tools, took out a Swiss Army knife and went to town with one of the blades, slowly and clumsily getting out the four screws on the black box under thedisc tray. Then, I wiped the lens down with a dry q-tip. I went and plugged it back up and was surprised the system ever turned on. Then I popped in my Marvel Vs. Capcom disc, and it actually played! I'm glad I know how to fix it now, don't want to but any games I can't use, or not be able to play games I've been waiting for like Xenosaga or the last 3 volumes of .hack.
