I know I am!! I get to play god again LOL!

Then again, i've always been a fan of the sims. And for those of you who don't know what the sims is,

And here is a little info about the Sims in general -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims

For those of you who DO know what i'm talking about, I totally LOOOVE how the new game is even more in depth when it comes to appearance and EVEN personality, which is REALLY cool, yet scary, because it'll literally feel like they're almost human, since they'll have their own individuality WHICH I LOVE! Thus making things more interesting, since I kind of like to make up little stories for my families!

I can't wait until June 2nd!! :D

Well hey, it's not for everyone & that's perfectly alright! I personally think it's great. And I am pretty sure i'm not the only one who feels the same way either. :)

I skipped The Sims 2 due to my PC being a piece of crap, but I've always been a fan of The Sims. I mean, I played most of the first expansions, and I even played The Sims Online... Speaking of, I wonder what kind of online elements this one will have. Playing The Sims online is just all kinds of awesome.

I actually have always wanted to play the sims online since it looked like a lot of fun. and Yeah, I am also curious as to how the online thing on the sims 3 will play out, too. It's nice to see a fellow sims enthusiast :D

The new Sims looks good. I like how the whole town is actually there and your sims go places in real time. I don't like the fact that the game is gonna have a cash shop.
If you want a sneak peek, watch this guy's broadcast http://www.justin.tv/jacobian360 he has a reviewers copy of the game, (or so he says) and he plays it everyday. It looks really nice.

Fuck the people, I'm more interested in the kiddy CAD tools the game features. If I want to build an 8 story mansion or a big ass castle from scratch, then I want to damn well build it. Any news on additions to construction tools, lot size, and maximum amount of floors?

On another note, if I wanted to play God, I'd go play Black & White.

Nobody can simulate what it is to be me.

(no, not really. probably gonna pull a spore, fall on its ass when it doesn't come to terms with claims it made etc)

I haven't really played the Sims since the first one, but I do like how the Sims 3 actually has a whole town full of sims to interact with, instead of just a bunch of separated areas you can jump around to. I don't know if I'll be getting it anytime soon, but if the opportunity is given to me, I'll definitely give it a shot.

got Sims 2 and was SOOO engrossed in it (my friend's girlfriend had like 5 generations before they had a massive HD crash)... but it wore off... now its kinda... eh.
That and it made me realize that, giving my self a hot loving wife in a game doesn't get me one IRL.....(goes to cry in a corner now)

Pre-ordered the Collector's Edition 2 months ago >.>

I never played the first one, but decided to give the Sims 2 a try and well got addicted, I always wanted to play Sims Online, and was deeply hoping for one on Sims 2, but sadly we never saw it... I thought the expansions were creative, each one adding its own special thing to a sim.. University gave us Zombies and ect. I personally enjoyed Apartment Life with it adding in Magic.

Interested in what kind of weird stuff we can have happen to our Sims this time around.

I had fun with the original Sims, but it got boring once I had the sweet job and all the expensive furniture in my house. I kind of play video games to escape from reality, not to play a better version of it.

Yeah it was the same thing with me too with the original sims. But I love how in the sims 2 they introduced the whole family thing in which they ACTUALLY concieve a baby and it grows and develops through the early stages and then into an adult and then they can start families of their own, which was always so cool for me. I can't wait to see what's in store in the sims 3!

It was leaked a little while ago. I'm sure you could take a peek if you were so inclined...

The Sims Online was nothing but a stat-grinding festival. A shame for a game like The Sims.
I love the Sims, though. I have a lot of fond memories. Plus, it's great for when you actively feel like murdering hours of your life.

I haven't played Sims in forever. I played Sims 3 today at my friends house. Apparently he downloaded it :o
It was an alright game. I never loved the Sims to begin with, but I seemed to enjoy this one a little.

Got the game today :D Its much nicer looking than Sims 2, and the AI has improved so much :-o

The Trait system is much more interesting than pick a random goal and hope for the best... Getting a promotion in your chosen Career is actually kind of difficult, though I like the various options you can now do while at work. the way you can actually pick and choose what skills you learn is also interesting, I also enjoy the Perks and Quirks each trait brings. So far, I'm liking it... hurray time sink

Back in the day. I managed to trade the original Age of empires (I had like 3 copies), for The Sim: super awesome deluxe edition (It had like 2 expansion packs on it) from a friend which I still have today.

This game was cool for an hour, then it just brought out the sadist in me. Eventually, I just used some cheats. Stuck my sims in a pool with no ladders to get out and killed them. Then uninstalled my game.

While I had my Sim attempt to repair his TV he apparently electrocuted himself and died... I was sad at First cause I had only been playing the game for about 2 hours and already managed to kill my Sim... and then Death showed up laughed at me and resurrected me because my bad luck was funny...

My character has the Bad Luck Trait, so I guess lucky me... for having bad luck o.O

Well, I am rather impressed with the scope of the changes in the Sims 3.

Lots of little things that all add up; the way skills are handled, the way you actually have something to do to influence your Sim's work performance, the openness of the town, the material and color customization of EVERYTHING IN THE GAME, better object placement (particularly on tables - the Sims and the Sims 2 handled this very badly), the inventory system, the trait system, the ability to determine how long your Sims' lifespans are (something oddly missing in 2)...

Really, it's quite an improvement. But I am rather miffed that the game's body customization still only consists of girth and muscularity. Not even height? Really? Ah, well. I guess animation technology is simply not yet at the point where they can convincingly interact with objects with any size character...

I *almost* picked up a copy today, but then realized that I'd rather do mundane things than tell my Sim to do them.

(I am so gonna get it after one of the double/gold packs comes out)

I bought this last night (of course). It's pretty fun, they've made lots of improvements on the little things. No college anymore, but I'm not surprised since that was from an expansion. It's the only thing I'd like to see added back.

Main improvements:

* Entire city is run as one game now; no annoying lot loading just to go to the grocery store.

* Related to the first point, when you go to other lots, time keeps flowing instead of you loading into the lot, spending time there, and when you leave time is where it was when you left your house.

* Leftovers system for the fridge works much better. Food prepared by a better chef gives you mood boosters.

* Skills take more effort now than reading a book/doing some basic activity for 10 levels.

* Lifetime happiness perks are actually useful now, and not crapshoots/things you have to save for Gold aspiration.

* You choose which Wishes to activate or not... and they're all positive. No more negative Wishes messing you up.

* Moodlet system makes decisions more complicated than simply "what's quickest". For example, taking a bath with a rubber duck gives you a mood booster for 5 hours which can help with your job. In The Sims 2 the only option was bathing was a shower because it was the quickest, therefore the best.

*In addition, getting a full night's sleep gives you a mood booster "Well Rested" for 10 hours. Now there is a point to getting a full night's sleep, not just making sure you have enough energy when your alarm goes off to make it through the day...

Took some pics too.

I swear, it's not a trailer. It's just shaped like a long rectangle.... really! (No really, the lot description even said so!)

Cool pics. I think I might get this, but I'm disappointed that the online features are few.

Maybe a future expansion will add some cool elements like that.

I really have a hard time picturing people being excited over The Sims.

"Oh boy, I can't wait to get home and have my Sim... exist!"

"Oh boy, I can't wait to get home and have my Sim... exist!"

I do not get why sims get this backlash, while "Slice of life"(I loathe this name) media is generally thought positively of.

I've found that this is what ends up slowing the game for lots of people with otherwise capable systems. Their HDDs aren't fast enough or something.

Luckily, you can turn down the amount of detailed lots to be displayed at the same time.
