I feel like only a few people will be interested in this, but Gamasutra just put up a really good interview with Tim Sweeney, founder of Epic Games.

The best part about this article is that they go way back to talk about Sweeney's earliest games, including one of my favorites - ZZT.
Anybody who can remember the days of shareware should give this a read. It's neat to look back at how the game development has changed from one or two man teams working out of a basement to the massive industry it is now.
