I was probably the last person to know this, and its probably old news by now. But Versus Books has released their official strategy guide for the gamecube and xbox versions of Pso. Got mine at EB. Seems like they had alot of them.

I guess if you can't play PSO you can flip through the strategy guide. I'm not being sarcastic btw.

Too bad the guide is crap. It's got some interesting bits, but it's just a rehashed version of the Dreamcast one, although, with a lot more errors this time around.

Its good for the episode 2 maps, but there are a lot of errors, typos and wrong info. For instance look at the chart for the Hucaseal's relative strengths in her abilities, its blatantly messed up (her bar for accuracy is lower than almost any other characters, including FO's).

They also really gloss over details about ultimate difficulty (like even mentioning the updated monster types ), and how some of their relative resistances are vastly different (ice being pretty much useless against Hildets comes to mind.).

There are even errors in some of the episode 1 maps, so for those i still refer (if i need too) to the DC guide.

They really rushed this out...

Most of their information relies on v1 info that is no longer true on the GCN version, that book will poison your mind!

Gray4: how can you say that it's good for the episode 2 maps?!?! They only show one variation!! Absolute garbage...

p.s. don't mean to be nasty... but I really hate that strat guide... they didn't put any effort into it at all... they don't even show the 4th mag evolutions...

For those of yuou that have it can you tell me something? Does the guide have a complete list of weapons and stats for them that is relatively decent? The item list is really the reason I want one if it's any good. Mostly because it would cost me more money in ink and paper to print all the info on this site.

that is what this thread (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=34595&forum=7&4) and the Mag, Quest, Item and Section ID Discussion forum is for. the books i have seen only give you information on the common found things only, and hints on the rare items.

there is also this (http://www.pso-world.com/items.php?op=listarticles&secid=8), that (http://www.pso-world.com/items.php?op=listarticles&secid=9), and this other one (http://www.pso-world.com/items.php?op=listarticles&secid=13) under the Latest Items on the front page of PSOworld. there should be a scrollbar on your right side. perhaps a few errors, but ok to work with.

Yikes, you are right. I hadn't even used it yet to play any episode 2, but flipping through it now, that is indeed the case. Pretty useless indeed...

But as for the 4h mag evolutions, its one of the few things they did include, see pg 171, they're all there along with explantions of who gets which one , under what circumstances.

They have a big list of rare items, but no actually useful info, ie i was hoping for a list of exactly what monsters on what dificulties drop which rares for for which section id...

I was aware of what the site has. Thing is that I like a handy copy with me when I play the game. Especially since I have to disconnect my computer from the ethernet port to play online. A guide is very handy. But from what you say it sounds like I am just better off printing from the site since the guide is of no help in the rare weapons department.

Yep. I've noticed all of this over the past few days. The fo tecnique bonuses are wrong too, I think. And the variations are wrong. And Sega sucks.

Please stop bashing Sega.

The guide is full-on crap. It lies by saying they have complete challenge mode and battle mode stuff, but where is it? The Episode II maps blow harder by only providing one variation.

I find only the Episode I maps and Mag Guide useful. The rest is bull. I'd steal the poster, not the guide for this one.

They have a pretty complete rare weapon list, but some of the stats are very wrong. I haven't looked at it in a while, but I think they listed the Spred Needle as a Hunter and Force weapon.

Sega deserves to be bashed right up until the day they get their act together. I guess what you really mean is "Stop being opinionated, you're scaring the sheep."
