What are your average times for the TP trick to work in Fake in Yellow? Also, what part in the forest do you find most effective. I have done several 1 hour blocks of TP'ing in hard and very hard and have only seen 1 Pal Rappie.

I've gone two hours without one, and one time I got one in three pipes. All luck..

You don't want to use the law of large numbers when it comes to PSO.

I usually see one every time without the telepipe trick, at least every other time... once i found 2, but that is kinda rare. no, i'm not lucky (even if i have found 2 god/battles in 12 runs in forest of sorrow http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif) anyhow, i have never found anything cool from them anyway...

Well, since no one has answered you with a number I will. I'd say the average number of telepipes to get a Pal Rappy (assuming you TP in the room with 8 Rappies) is 25. If you work out the math on that it comes out to about one in every 200 Rappies being rare. I'm not claiming that's exact, but it's pretty close from my experience with it.

Once with my Whitill FOmar I started the Fake in Yellow quest with the intention of TPing for a while to get a Red Partisan. The first Rappy in the first room after the Fake was a Pal Rappy. He dropped the Partisan. I haven't looked for another one with that character since. 25/0/30/0 in case you were wondering.

My Whithill Fomar has never been that lucky...
In fact, the TP trick has never worked for me at all, even after piping for 2 hours straight. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_evil.gif

There's a quote I've heard about random number generators... something like, "It's not a real random number generator if it can't randomly generate a million zeroes in a row," or something to that effect.

In other words, I think ST did a bit too good a job with their random numbers... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
