"8.*If you catch fire, do not run!"

"Shielding: If you have a thick shield between yourself and the radioactive materials more of the radiation will be absorbed, and you will be exposed to less."

What a joke.

Ready.gov is already pretty funny just the way it is. o_0

"Do not go back into a burning building and carefully supervise small children."

Um, that seems to be worded a bit strangely. Probably just me, though.

"Disaster preparedness is no longer the sole concern of earthquake prone Californians and those who live in the part of the country known as "Tornado Alley." For Americans, preparedness must now account for man-made disasters as well as natural ones. Knowing what to do during an emergency is an important part of being prepared and may make all the difference when seconds count."

There goes tourism in California. XD

I love that "If you catch fire, do not run!" part.

Nothing's wrong, except for the migraine that just impulsed into his head upon seeing his kids up on the shed for the umpteenth time like he told them not to be. He's just on the verge of twitching one last time before he starts throwing objects at them.

...thats what I see anyway.

Blackrose and myself had a nice laugh over those two websites. There's just too much fun to be had really. =)

Anyone remember that south park episode where the volcano becomes active and the civilians are told to duck and cover and the laval would just roll over them? BAHAHAHHAHA! ^_^

Yeah, my mom says she remembers being shown "duck & cover" filmstrips in elementary school. Supposedly, ducking under your desk would miraculously save you from a nuclear blast. (But don't forget to cover your eyes, so you won't be blinded!)

Heh, like in Iron Giant.

Actually laying flat on low ground (excluding flood watch areas) is a good idea in case of dirty bombs, just like in the sense of a tornado.
