Sega started a phantasy star portable 2 blog here

http://ameblo.jp/phantasy-star-portable2/

Although I'm confused why it's hosted on ameblo and not sega's own domain.

Time to start translatin.

Back when I created my ameblo account, I wanted to keep up to date on my favorite dorama, actors, etc., and maybe post my thoughts about it. All I ended up getting was a lot of anonymous porn spam.

Regarding the data conversion, that's kind of a shame.

"Well, I worked for the Guardians for three years, now I'm on Clad 6 with nothing to show for it and no skills. Got a free facelift, though."

As far as i can tell, the screenshots are old, but very clear with no image watermarks.

The blog says they will release the opening video prologue movie tomorrow
and he says the song is brand new and will showcase some characters and
new elements not seen before. The rest of the blog was just talking blah blah
about the size of Sega's staff and what he plans to do.

He also said he'd love to hear feedback but can't answer all your
questions if it's too adult. Hahaha :D

OMFG yes. I was using the google translate on my Mozilla firefox to decrypt some of the japanese text and I found this! The translator doesn't work that well and some text is left in Japanese.

"In his previous work for a 2D city dotted with each planet, now clad in his six "Ritoruuingu jurisdiction" and only one point, 3D is expressed.

3D and not too wide to say things, you'll have is user-friendly size. The counter is integrated into mission, a mission entrusted all in one place making it possible.

Of course, even when 3D Multiplayer So while other things can also話Shi込N Mattari and chat with you or other players. The city can enter more than four people. "

Wait, you can actually have more than four people in the city?! :-O
That's gonna be awesome! I thought they were gonna do what they did in PSZ and limit it strictly 4 people per city and party.
From the looks of this, I'm guessing the 3D city lobby place probably won't be that large but will tons of different floors maybe. Like PSO?
Or my translator just feels like being a douchebag and that's not actually what it says. (It's actually done that before)

Another odd translation
"Chat is, of course, to use the familiar Fukidashichatto series. 入力には、PSP(R)のシステムキーボードではなく、コンパクトなシンプルキーボードを使用 する。 The input, PSP (R) system instead of the keyboard, use a compact Shinpurukibodo. シンプルだが、フキダシの種類を変えるなどのシリーズ特有の機能はしっかりと搭載。 It's simple, specific features, such as changing the type of series is equipped with a solid excuse butterbur. 新機能として携帯メールなどでおなじみの絵文字も使えるようになり、チャット表現の幅がさらに 広がったぞ。 Emoticon to use and familiar as well as new features mobile email, I'll chat widened the range of expression."

Could this possibly be a solution to the issues I brought up earlier having to do with the PSO/PSU on-screen keyboard?!
Also features mobile email? Huh?

Your translator is wrong. It says there can be "up to four people in the city."

Sorry :(

Are the Japanese Google Language tools still in beta? If you want to use a web-based translator, this one is a bit better, IMO:

http://honyaku.nifty.com/

Try it out and see what you think.

That beats Google, no doubt. Still not as good as a human translation though. I went through and translated that page yesterday for another site.
I suck though.

The mobile email is referring to the emoticons. They made the emoticons look similar to those on a Japanese cellphone when your sending a text message.

The blog updated a little today

He was kind of beating around the bush, but he did say they will present some materials....

Then goes on to say "Now that you mention it... there's a Tokyo Game Show in September." Hmmm wink wink.

He's looking forward to this year's "change" in TGS. I'm not entirely sure yet by what he means by this. I assume he is referring to last year when it took place in October during a "Health and Sports Day" which is a big family event in japan. This year TGS is taking place in September and the game developers are very happy about it.

I hope by materials you mean clothing, weapons, units, etc. And not synth materials. Becuase if synthing is coming to PSP2 then I'm gonna be upset. Unless of course your talkin about something COMPLETELY different. It surprises me that "Health and Sports Day" is something huge in Japan. Im sure anywhere else in the Western isles it wouldn't be so much. Huh. Interesting.
