The official site has been updated with a fair bit of stuff. Most of it is stuff we already know though.

Battle (link (http://phantasystar.sega.jp/psp2/about/battle/02/))
Mirage Blasts are units that were created by researching the technology of the ancient civilization in the Gural System. The Mirage Blasts have names and different kinds of attack patterns.

Flame Mirage Blast "Nui," attacks a single creature in front.
Ice Mirage Blast "Conl," (Konru, コンル) attacks multiple enemies in a straight line.
Lightening Mirage Blast "Kanna," attacks things in the air.
Earth Mirage Blast "Toi Toi," attacks things in a circular area.

This page also talks about the technique attacks and the area based techs affecting multiple target creatures and the finishing move via combo. The commands you can give to your allies are also listed:

Free order: Attack with whatever weapon the NPC is good with.
Attack shift: Attack without healing or doing anything else.
Shooter sight: Perform long range attacks with guns or techs.
Heal order: Less attacking and more healing / buffing.
Follow shift: Performing long range attacks while healing and buffing. Follow the PC takes precident.
Blast charge: Charge SUV, NB, MB and inform the player when fully charged.
Blast release: Use SUV, NB, or MB.

Blog Parts (link (http://www3.sega.co.jp/psp2/blog_parts/))
You can use this stuff to on your blog or webpage to tell other people how much of a Phantasy Star fan you are. See here (http://www3.sega.co.jp/psp2/blog_parts/sample-page.html) to see what these "parts" do with out having to actually link to one.

Default Character Designs (link (http://phantasystar.sega.jp/psp2/world/race/))
Female designs are also available along with the male designs for all races now via this page.

Crouch Mueller (link (http://phantasystar.sega.jp/psp2/world/character/crouch/))
Crouch is the beast in charge of the civilian military provider Little Wing. He is in charge of protecting Emilia but shows such a lack of interest that it could be taken as negligence. He used to be a notorius detective but for some reason, he shows no sign of his former self.

Lumia Waber (link (http://phantasystar.sega.jp/psp2/world/character/lumia/))
Lumia belongs to the general investigation depart of the Guardians. She is the sister of Ethan Waber and though she repects her hero brother she shirks away from the weight of his name.

Tokyo Game Show (link (http://phantasystar.sega.jp/psp2/information/tgs/))
TGS information for you lucky monkeys that have time to make it to TGS. There are three missions available to play at TGS: Catapult Jump, Plains Overlord, and a mission in the Undersea Plant. On Saturday, you can go see the live filming of Fun! Fan! 2 if you pick up a ticket at Sega's booth. On Sunday, you can see a stage presentation by Sakai on PSP2.

Fanta! (link (http://phantasystar.sega.jp/psp2/about/collabo/fanta/))
Information about the Fanta items. Fanta soda cans will be appearing as items in PSP2 and there are plans to give out weapons on the official Fanta website as well. If you go to TGS and try out the PSP2 demo, you will receive a Fanta strap. It has a dangling Fanta can and a strap with the Fanta and PSP2 logo on it.

I kind of wish the information they'd post in the blog or on the official website wasn't leaked some else first. Anyways the bits on Crouch and Lumia and direct translations and they suck. See WBMike's posts for a better translation.

LOOK HERE (http://ch.nicovideo.jp/channel/ch286)

the movie itself wasn't that interesting, BUT what was displayed over the movie is.

(i thought it was spam at first!!!) it says somewhere that the lvl cap is 200(or it might have said it was over 200, i missed some of the kanji around it.

anyway will someone look at this to confirm that i was somewhat right?

WOOT, i just re-looked at the movie info spam and i seen that there will be at least 2000 items(might have been weapons), but now i must ask the question how many weapons was in the first one?

Ethan hero Ethan hero, what about me? I was the hero in Episode 2 and 3 lol haven't we made it into history or what? Laia got all the merit I see...

They should make a bbcode for those "blog parts"

Crouch reminds me of someone but I'm not sure who...

Cool, I love these new character designs. The female human looks hawt... =o

I'm also glad to hear that you can actually issue commands to NPC's now instead of just having them as meatshields all the time, lol.

I'm still curious about these Mirage Blasts though... is this for BOTH Humans and Newmans?

And wtf is this Fanta items bullcrap? Did they have to resort to getting funding through advertising another franchise!? I guess if it improves the overall quality of the game, but I just hate seeing advertising spam in games... :disapprove:

The site has been updated! I thought they forgot about it, its been about two weeks since the last update. Finally we can get some pictures that Sakai hasn't blurred the crap out of!

I guess we already knew most of this stuff but its nice to see the Mirage Blast creatures and clear default characters. Those commands are pretty much straight out of PSZero, right down to holding or using your uber move (We need a catch all name for them... I don't wanna say SUV, NB and MB everytime). ¬_¬

Also the screenshot on that Mirage Blast page regarding chains shows a 21 chain so I guess it is each hit adds 1 to the chain rather than each full combo, in all honestly thats much better as it was pretty hard to keep up chains using a full combo in PSZero so I approve.

Hmm... those Fanta cans are appearing in game? Perhaps they will be decorations for this apparent room decoration that will be in the game (is that still a rumour?)

Poor Lumia. She is like us from Episode 2. Not getting any recognition!
I don't like her look, but especially dislike her clothes. It looked good to me when we first saw her in the opening, but not anymore.
Are those the usual Guardians outfits now? Tell Laia to dismiss the designer!
You don't have to look ugly to shrink your name! You don't have to!

Crouch looks as good as ever, tho! ;D
And I love Fanta! (: (I am glad about the collaboration only being a few room goods. That is not pushy.)

The new character designs look great, but the sponsership deals are very worrying. I don't particularly mind ingame advertising, I find it easy enough to phase this stuff out. But liscenced goods is one of the main reasons Sega haven't brought the recent Yakuza games to the West.. Too much effort to change it all, for something they don't think will sell.

So rooms are coming back... dammit. It's such a totally useless feature, in my opinion. They should have kept it the way it was in PSP or completely removed them and had the player's item storage accessible from a counter in the main Clad 6 hub (just like in PSO and PS0).

Amherst_Wind
Sep 18, 2009, 10:36 AM
Rooms are nice for customization, they obviously dont want to remove rooms. I mean rooms were still in PSP1 it was just menu based, you still had to travel back there and talk to your PM but it was all in boring menus. I for one am very happy at the confirmation of rooms, though I can't say I will be hurrying to fill it with giant fanta cans... XD

Sep 18, 2009, 11:20 AM
Why are the rooms in clad 6 exactly the same shape they are in the colony?

And the room customization is what I enjoy the most in PSU, in the past two months I've spent more time decorating my rooms than playing missions lol I'm glad this option is back.

Though I presume Sega of America would have to agree to the deal with Fanta's American branch, and I don't know why but I get the feeling game collaborations go a lot smoother in Japan. Everyone in America would be too focused on their own interests and whether it would make them any money.

sounds like the dolphin
Lightening Mirage Blast "Kanna," attacks things in the air.
dont know what it technicly was, but claimed to only hit enemies in the air but hit anything.
Earth Mirage Blast "Toi Toi," attacks things in a circular area.

Yeah I thought that, which is nice I think. Though now there are Elements to consider, so it wont just be a case of Golla for Bosses, Pilla for everything else like in PSO.
Also, does it mention anything on the site about that being all the Mirage Blast creatures? I wonder if there will be Light and Dark creatures that they are keeping under wraps...

I sincerely doubt this is any different in Japan.

I assume not, but they'd still have to negotiate new deals with the American companies.. Nevermind Europe, which may be difficult to do for a sequel to game that wasn't particularly popular over here.

I was also under the impression that other sponserships were included, some of them are bound to cause issues. Hopefully these things are just bonus items that are added with downloads, that way it would be easy enough to sort out. Otherwise, and I hate to be pesimistic, but it'll cause serious delays to the game, if we even get it at all.

It says that these are four of the six, and with previous information stating that the six elements will be covered, the remaining two should be light and dark. (I figure the dark one will be that "black nanoblast" shown in the opening movie.) If we don't see these final two at TGS, then they'll probably add them to the site as we approach the game's release.

Sweeeeeeeeet! Seeing as the only two PSO Photon Blasts left are healing and buffs and they wouldn't really suit the Mirage Blast it looks like the Light and Dark creatures will have to be (somewhat) original! Good, good, good!

Look neat. But I figure if we're seeing soda in the future, Fanta would be included. They aren't the most famous Soda, but they sure as heck have staying power. :) :) :)

Anyway, it does seem Mirage Blasts are like Photon Blasts. (which still makes me wonder if they'll put in that little aspect of them powering-up following Blasts performed in succession)

I'll also have to hand it to the designers. Particularly with Crouch's design. They actually managed to make a pink coat design look actually quite masculine.

He does look manly, the pink coat is one thing but also he is wearing a Hawaiian shirt underneath his coat... (in fact do a google image search for "Hawaiian shirts" look at the first shirt...) xD

The reason is with a beard like that, he can look nothing but manly, I think thats the Chuck Norris Rule.

Or is such a thing possible (without shaving the chest)?

Akaimizu
Sep 19, 2009, 06:40 AM
It's possible. Ok. Maybe not a single chest hair, but definitely barely noticeable chest hair with a beard . Facial hair definitely doesn't have any significance to what amount of hair grows on other parts of the body. Torso hair growth patterns may even be different from man to man. :) :) :)

On the subject of character design, I guess I can't really change Tynselle, or just about any of my characters. They're already grown up, whether they're a bit underdeveloped or not. I already established Tynselle as a full fledged adult.

Some people play games and enjoy them for being games. Other people become obsessed and make up a back story for character they "created." I generally think those people need to get out more.

Considering what has been said about types working differently, I wouldn't be surprised to see them overhaul how they function. Maybe the types themselves will change as you level them up instead of remaining static (stat increases were the only dynamic aspect of PSU/PSP types). The devs could then get away with producing four types only.

For example, let's say that the Hunter type at Level 1 starts with the standard B and A Grade weapon chart but at Level 5 changes to allow the player to use S-rank weapons and higher level Photon Arts. You would then have to work towards an advanced Hunter type without having to go to a menu and pay meseta to switch like you do in PSU/PSP when going from Hunter to Fighmaster.

But that's just an idea that popped into my head. Who knows what they're cooking?

WBMike
Sep 19, 2009, 03:51 PM
Lol I can see them putting some GAS within types, like purchasing extra features with meseta, or maybe collecting photon drops or something.

You know thats exactly how I presumed Types worked when I first played PSU, I saw the details for my Hunter class and all the C/B rank weapons and I thought "Oh I guess when I level up the ranks of those weapons will go up". If you ask me its a good idea, it would make levelling types much more fun and necessary.

Hunter, Ranger and Force are Super Master Classes by themselves, more or less like in PSU extra mode or story mode.

The first time I knew about classes in PSU, before the release, I thought they would increment your base stats according to that class, permanently, so if you are a hunter from lvl 1 to 10 you will have a boost in ATP, HP etc, but if you change to force at this point, your stats stay the same, but from lvl 10 to 20 they will increase TP, MST, etc Like in some games you apply exp points in the stats, growing a custom character, or like in Azel Panzer Dragoon, the stats of the dragon every level up were determined by the wing type you were using. I'm glad it was not like this, because you wouldn't be able to change to whatever you want without penalty like in PSU.

Actually, at the end of the entry it says...

エミリアのパンツは
しまぱんです(ガチで)

Which translates as...

Emilia's underwear are striped panties (but in good taste).

D:

hehe shimapan :3

makes me wonder if we finally get a bigger selection of underwear

Them Japanese sure do love them panties. Honestly to me they just get in the way of the better thing underneath the panties. Giggidy.

Just read over the post. Here are some details as well as a few random things I pulled from the concept artwork.

http://ameblo.jp/phantasy-star-portable2/entry-10347380558.html

* On the artwork for both characters, note the mosaic panties. Sakai says that if you want to see them without the mosaic effect, you'll have to wait for an artbook to be released.
* The angel wing things attached to the front collar of Emilia's jacket are actually headphones. (Angel-A brand, according to the connector around the back of her neck.) The wire and ear pieces both take on the color of her line shield.
* UV School is on the back of her jacket. Not sure of the significance yet. Might just be a brand name of her uniform.
* The feather accessory on Lumia's head is a nanotranser.
* The fancy letter on her nanotranser and over her heart is a "G," part of the GUARDIANS' uniform.
* S.S.S. Spec 2 (Solid Skin System Spec 2) on the back of her sweater (in the line shield pattern) suggests upgraded line shield systems, but that's just speculation.
* A new type of co-op mission will be playable at TGS. Here are the differences between it and normal free missions.
- Players choose from four battle types before the start of the mission.
- The mission starts when all four players arrive at the starting gate.
- There is a time limit on the mission.
- Level, weapons and items are at fixed values.
- Incapacitation is OK since you can hold 99 revival items.
* On a side note, in the challenge missions, incapacitation leads to failure.
* Tomorrow, volume 2 of "Fun! Fan! Phantasy Star Portable 2!"

I don't know the details about the JP PSU GAM missions, but this sounds exactly like challenge mode from PSO ^^

Shouldn't it be the fact that you can see the panties of like every female character in this game that scares you, instead of the fact that they are making concept art for them?

YOU ARE SHOCK!!

Japan is to decency as oil is to water. It's pretty much expected. You could be scared by that.
Or you could be scared that everybody knows and people just roll their eyes and go on with life.

I'd like to think that Japan has loads and loads of decency....Enough that their entertainment field is a total escape from it. :) :) :) It balances out life, that way. :)

Like women don't appreciate guys that show off their body contours. :) Fan service goes both ways, though it seems a lot of regular entertainment seems male-sided and at the same time, male against. A lot of good-looking guys may feel they aren't so nice-looking in an industry that doesn't promote them, so much. Except for stuff that's borderline Yaoi. And most of those guys aren't really into guys.

Skin-showing outfits? The thing is you can put ANYTHING on a sexy female body and you can still tell you've got a hottie there. Bikini, kimono, dirty t-shirt and jeans. It all works. That's why fashion designers use hideous trolls instead of pornstar vixens for models, it forces guys to see and judge the clothing on its own merits instead of "that piece of cloth is covering a nice ass".

Panties? I'd rather go without the injection of some tasteless fetish / quasi-pedo sexuality, but since that's obviously not happening I'll just hold my nose and deal with it.

Sega's going to need to add some much more awesome eyebrow options before that's going to be even slightly possible.

It's doable if Sega is smart enough to hire artists like Satoshi Urushihara (who has a PS2 artwork in his Cel Works art book), Masakazu Katsura (who did the designs for Zeiram The Animation), or even at least Yasuomi Umetsu (who did redesigns on 90s remakes of Tatsunoko shows).

Still baffles me why they hired the artist they did for the PS1 and PS2 remake.
Those designs look like a bad Bible Black fan art! *shivers in disgust*
If they wanted to save money, they could've at least hired Koh Kawarajima XD

I like the Generations designs, I think they fit both games with the opulence in technology and society the games represented, Phantasy Star IV in the other hand was a declined civilization, just like Hokuto takes place in a post apocalyptic world.

Well, isn't the pantsu thing only in the artbook? If so, you don't have to get it, then everything's solved.

Except it plays some kind of ig-role at all, like a scene which involves Emilia's pantsu for JP-comedy moe effects, or ig-pics where you can see them etc... then I'd be disappointed. lol
Mixing RPGs with Visual Novel elements sucks, just like animes get worse the more genres they include (especially if they include ecchi but have another main genre).

Oh well, at least it's not as bad as Ninja Gaiden 2 "boobalism" (or maybe it's just plain simple impossible with the characters in PSP2). XD

On a side note, I think besides the above mentioned things I'm the only one here liking them pantsu in general.

I don't understand it at all. I hope it doesn't include this "pantsu" junk because it just doesn't belong. Maybe in one wacky scene maybe sure. I'll bite. The one HUMONGUSLY large part is the seeing the re-vamped Chainsawd. Yea...I'd love to see what it looks like in this version.

... more like every time one of your female NPCs gets knocked out. Those short skirts barely do their job for modesty when the character's standing up. Not that standing there having a nose-bleed over the upskirt view is compulsory but now we all know that there are fashionably-accessorized panties to see for anyone so inclined :\

This Phantasy Star, is until now the best game since PSO (in my opinion), but i want to see more information... I know it costs to much making a game for PS3, but the next Phantasy Star title deserves that.
