i have the amplifiers...but i cant seem to find the barriers that i need to merge them with...where do i find those?

Try normal mines and ruins. You might be able to find some there.

Or you can buy barriers online through Gallon's Shop quest with your photon drops if you have any.

Basically you can find amplifiers and coloured barriers anywhere. However, I've found most of my amps and barriers in Ult Ruins, from boxes.

Of course you could always trade in 20 photon drops for a barrier online, in Gallon's shop quest.

No, but I have seen some drop charts that have barriers being listed as being dropped in normal mines and ruins.

I scored a Recovery Barrier out of a box in the Mines on Hard. Whitil ID.
