Japanese Playstation 3 store has a brand new trailer also...
It's in the PSP Vol. 3 TGS trailer collection (there are 6 volumes for PSP, and 6 for PS3).

Big spoilers... Maybe?

The trailer has Tonnio, Liina... and I don't want to start rumors... But there is a large possibility, that an Adult Lumia is in the game, and one of the main CAST characters from PSU (not sure which one) wakes up at the end of the video. I'll try to see if I can transfer the video to a thumb drive, or something, and post it on youtube, unless someone already has.

at 4:12 of the video above, it appears as though he misses a PSO RARE drop. How I miss those "little red boxes"...........he even moans about it when the other player scoops it up! -lol

Whoah! Did anyone else notice that those floating squid things *CHANGED ELEMENTS* mid-fight? I distinctly saw two of them go from Lightning to Ice; their bodies even changed hues while doing so!

This could be rather interesting if other mobs can do that as well!

I'm really liking the look of the game. This version seems to favor regular attacks and combos, which I like. Unless the cpu allies are just more conservative with the special attacks.

Thanks for the response, Alis.

I have another question that maybe someone can answer. What's the purpose of having line shields in the palette? I thought the line shields didn't have elemental attributes anymore? And why would you carry more than one anyway? (Do people do that in PSU? I never have.)

Amherst_Wind
Sep 26, 2009, 05:23 PM
Line shields still have elements, you can tell cause the line shields in the screenshots have been several different colours. I never carried more than one line shield but I know some people did. If anything the new line shield palette certainly might convince me to start doing it in certain missions maybe.

Actually I found it pretty normal that people would carry 6 line shields with all elements so they'd be prepared for any kind of mission, line shield-wise.
At least I did carry 6 all the time and this new feature certainly will give me greater comfortability.

Thanks again for the responses. While I do see the benefit of carrying different line shields, it would take up valuable inventory space. But hey, to each his own, right? Thanks again.

And some more TGS Tidbits

So according to Shougai PSO (http://www.g-heaven.net/topics/2009/09/090927b.html), they formally announced a demo version (don't know when), these two cats "Toro and Kuro" (thanks amherst_wind) will appear as partner machinery in the game, and Sakai played PSO's forest stage and the enemies Savage Wolf, and Barbarous Wolf appeared.

You're not. The title of this is now "Phantasy Star Jones: Search for the Lost Space Ark."

I'm a little surprised the Doko demo Issho cats are in the game. That's a PSP2 - Sony colaboration right there. That means we have Fanta, Jump, and Sony. Anyone heard anything about other ones yet?

I want to know whats gonna happen in the western release! Will we still get the same as the Japanese or will we get suckered out? My expectations are lowered on this aspect sadly. Can you say "Why am I getting RickRoll'd when I try to get the Toro cat?"

WBMike

Just hope Ruby can convince SOA president to convince SOJ to create exclusive collab items for us, that way we won't have the copyright conflict when it gets here.

Toro and Kuro are gonna be 50/50 at best, they didn't appear in the localized Disgaea 3, they may appear in Disgaea 2 but we'll need to wait and see, however the Toro costume for LittleBigPlanet did eventually appear outside Japan...

Fanta is a possiblity, it depends on if Fanta outside of Japan agree to it I guess.

Strangely I'd say the Jump stuff has the best chance, simply because its stuff made specifically for the game.

Waki Miko Syamemaru!
Sep 26, 2009, 10:15 PM
Yea besides they sell Jump rags here in the states so it shouldn't be a problem!

Wait...there is Jump! items in PSP2? Will I get to use Ichigo's Zengetsu or Gin's wooden sword?

You can see the shield lines in the pallete as well. Depending how the controls work while the pallette is open, switching between lines, weapons, and items could get confusing.

No mothmant? I guess that would have been the only enemy they could not just simply have reskinned. Although they could have used those odd bug robots that always come in swarms.
That would hardly have been the same, but at least something.

I wonder if the old rare Rappys will now be normal enemies in the forest. After all we have the PSZ Rappys now.

Well, I just hope for a video of the forest now.

Hopefully it wont be too bad, L to move towards Items and R to move towards Line Shields, then Up and Down on the D-pad to scroll through whatever you are on. Though to be honest in PSP1 I just used the D-pad to control all the movement in the palette.

Yes, on PSP is not very useful using L and R to move in the pallete, but if they ever introduce this to PSU or another version of PSU...

Can we finally equip more than 6 weapons in the pallette..?

Being able to hold more than 6 weapons would honestly annoy me.
More scrolling, mismatching with the amount of consumption items / line shields on the palette would also lead to having get used to different paces.
And more than 6 (max 12) weapons aren't really needed in a mission I think.

But it also wouldn't bother me much in general I guess since I see the controls are getting a bit more complicated compared to PSP1.

Is it confirmed about how PA leveling system will work yet? (either that you have to find high lv disk like PSO or you have to practice PA like PSU?)

I heard from someone that it should be PSO style, but from this trailer, it look like you have to practice your PA still, because that Gi-zonde disk doesn't show lv. (just like how it work on PSP1)

Ffuzzy-Logik
Sep 27, 2009, 12:01 PM
It might show the disc level only in the item description. That's how it works on PSU, actually.

No kidding. There were three different missions to play and the only videos up at the moment are the Undersea Plant area. However, the show just ended yesterday so I'd say give the normal people a little more time.

This is the only thing I can imagine. I liked the left shoulder=items and right shoulder=weapons from the original though.

but it need to show in item name too, because you are going to pick the disk up from the ground or not, depending on the level. (in PSO case)

so if they only show lv on description, then it is likely to be PSU style practice PA.

Ffuzzy-Logik
Sep 28, 2009, 12:37 AM
Except we've already been told otherwise, haven't we? I get your point, but that doesn't meant that ST actually thought of it. It all likelihood, you will have to pick up every disc and then go into the menu to check the actual level of it. Don't forget this is the same old ST we're talking about here.

The official site has a page up about Toro and Kuro now too. The pictures are tiny though.

Along with Toro and Kuro PMs, there are also Toro and Kuro room decorations as well, it seems.

Anything can be changed until the final state of the game, either the level will show at the item name later, or it will have PA level up, or that it will be the same suck ST.

At least it is something that doesn't be put on the official site battle system yet. I honestly think that some of those word might be wrong sometimes, a game wasn't made by one person after all. I like PA practice system a lot.

Sand Rappy
Maser Beam (PSO weapon)
Nano Dragon (PSO monster)
Ursula (Green haired Newman Whip Lady)
Sizzle (Silver Haired notSephiroth)
New Black Nanoblast (no axe lol)
New SUV (that guy in the other thread talked about surfboard)

Wild Blast decreases the time it takes for your blast gauge to charge. In other news, I had no idea that guage was called a "blast gauge."

Also there is a new video which hasn't been uploaded online yet.
http://www.g-heaven.net/topics/2009/09/090929b.html
This is the video I want to see. Going through the Shogai post real quick there's a shot of the black nanoblast from the opening video, a list of titles (which I'll get to in a minute), and item trading (!!!).

The titles I can make out are:

Beginner (level 3)
Rookie (level 10)
Leader (level 30)
Chief (level 40)
Elite (level 50)
Ace (level 60)
(Hunter level 10)
(Hunter level 20)
(Hunter level 30)
(Ranger level 10)

I could read the name of the title for level 20 (?ーン) or for the hunter levels (戦士 was in there though).

It appears from those screenies that once your Blast Gauge fills you use the Circle button to trigger it (and SUV's/Nanoblasts). Is the X button used for the action pallette??? I know how the R&L Triggers & select are used but X is still iffy to me. I too would like to see that movie!
