View Full Version : What are the best MAG combinations?

I do hope there isn't already a thread like this, but I was wondering if there are already Japanese guides out about the best mags for each class.

More specifically, I was wondering what the best mag build would be for a HuNewm.
I guess other mags for the other classes would be nice too. If there is already a thread like this feel free to flame me ^^;

Well, I'd say 'best' is really more preference than anything. Even the photon blasts, which are what I know the least about, are usually partially up to what you like.

Either way, there is a Mag database here on PSO World now, so check that out and see if it helps :).

I know that there is the database and stuff, but I was just wondering what would be the best photon blasts and which stats need to be focused on.

I hope there is a decent mag feeding guide because the one in the Brady guide is mediocre at best. What if I want a Sato mag? Guess I'll have to figure it out myself because I'm SOL with this thing.

Pure Power ftw.

All classes, no exceptions. Yes, even FORCES. BATTLEFORCES YO.

Really? Well what about photon blasts?

I'm going to be popping Mates for Def and Pow, so I can tank and beat down some monsters with my Hucast. Gonna get me a Radam, too.

Hm, it seems like raising mags is much easier on this game, so I'll just raise my first mag in power. I'll just wait for some other guides to come out with some recommendations. Thank god you don't have to raise them to 200 anymore.

What the hell. I just found out that the MAG guides are 50x better than that in the "Official" Strategy Guide. Ugh. Oh well. It definitly seems that raising MAGs are easier now! I think I'll name my Sato "Metal Gear".

Which really just means you get 100 less stat points :).

On the plus side though, I haven't seen any talk about adjustments to the points, it just seems to be a straight addition.

The whole double power/mind, half hit mechanic may no longer exist.

Don't you mean 200?

And what do you mean by the double/half thing?

Don't. Save that 17 bucks for food. Like steak or something. Its seriously not that great. They make every class thats not a CAST to be a meaty sack of fail. They pretty much sum up Newman Hunters as "Hahahaah! A newman melee fighter? Are you serious? Pffffffft! Good luck bro!" and human rangers as "Dude, srsly these ain't no Master Cheifs. Better re-roll as a Cast!".

Shenanigans. And not the cheeky fun loving kind either. I'm talking the evil kind.

Hoo hoo shenanigans!

But the hard info seems good. Just ignore the opinions, and you'll be fine.

Well no, you raise the Mag to 100 instead of 200, so 100 less stat points to gain from it. Of course, since max level is 100 now, it's rather expected.

As for the stats... you remember that in PSO if the Mag had 50 in power, 10 in defense and 30 in hit it actually added 100 to your attack power, still 10 to your defense, and only 15 to your hit.

SmashMan140

But didn't raising the mag one level raise the stat by 2 points?

Evicous
Nov 11, 2009, 12:49 AM
It depended on the particular stat.

But in PS0 each point raises the stat in question by 2 regardless of the stat.

Only if that 'level' was a point in power or mind... ah, so yes, I see what you're saying. If you put all 200 points into power you'd actually get 400 atp out of it.. so 300 less points now?

XD Well, either way, I'm sure everything is rebalanced to work as it does now.

Edit: After seeing Evicous post. I didn't realize everything was 2 rather than 1, so they just changed hit and defense. And yes, 200 less points :).

At least, I am pretty sure it is 2.

EDIT: After reading http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http://pszero.wikiwiki.jp/%3F%25A5%25DE%25A5%25B0&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&usg=ALkJrhgpamFrg0VXr_WwvStXEtlrKIayRw I think it might be 1 per point. We'll know when we get the game I guess.

Unfortunately nothing on the feeding chart really answers the question. The numbers there, I imagine, indicate how much of the bar fills with each feeding. Our question is, when you fill the bar and gain a level, point, does it increase the correstponding 'stat', not mag point but player attribute, by 2, like old PSO power and mind, or by 1.

I'm sure those who have played it, either from the event or Japanese version, could answer this... or we could wait a day and do so then :).

Yep and I even mapped out in my head which final MAG I'm going for. Awesome.
