Price Check: Spread Needle

Its just I got one today and can't go through the lobbies without players looking at my equipment and mailing me in harassment to give it up to them....

What I am asking is the following:

How much is a spread needle worth under the following conditions:

0/10 (Regular)
2 - 4/10 (partial grind)
5+/10
X/9

Don't bother grinding it unless you're crazy or there's a grind boost :p

Umm this is really hard to Price Check since they don't even seem to be selling on the Xbox. However it is easily worth 300 million (I can offer you at least that much worth of stuff right now if you're selling :D). I'd say around 500 million (price check for all insignificant grinds x/10).

Spread Needle G was worth 300 - 500 million and I would suspect this drop being rarer than a RED unit would be worth more (it is also stronger)...specially for those like me who were PSO players and enjoy the nostalgia behind the weapon.

I am sure every ex-PSO player is out looking for one not truly based on its pure power, but for nostalgia.

Indeed, and as it being rarer than a Red unit, the highest valued Red unit is 250 million for the Red / Knight, hence my price quote at 500 million or so (I haven't received any offers on my Spread Needle). Also, people offer around 300 million on the Xbox, hence my 300 million price quote as well.

Keep in mind this is the PC/PS2 servers. There are probably only 10 people who can afford this thing. I know Milranduil wants 2 of them but I don't know if he's willing to shell out as much as I can.

IMHO, i would say no more than 200mil at 0/10, maybe 250 at 4/10. But like Rau said, there's maybe 10 people that can actually buy it for that price without going broke.

I love the weapon, and I wouldn't pay 500 mil for it.
(and the Sn/g isn't worth 300-500, unless highly grind, and/or not broken, and even then good luck getting that).
I bought my 5/10 for 200 worth of items/meseta, and sold it for 150 at 5/5 (after horrible luck with the boost).

Price check on Spread Needle would be 250-350 at most. 0/10 of course.

I wanted to wait and see what others said before posting. I am gunner all the way, always have been always will be. I would say 300mil but only because it is new. I myself would not pay that much because all of the options out there like pakudacs 10/10, high grind sn/g's. The luck you would need to grind it to the level to be more powerful than those easily obtainable shotties is atrocious. There will be some that will say use GC for grinds, I prefer to go the hard way...old school...makes me feel better of my accomplishments. I'll stick to my Pakudacs 10/10 and try to grind my 6/10 sn/g with a grind boost.

If you like old school so much, perhaps you remember the old school Roleplaying games where if you died you dropped your entire inventory. That was OLD SCHOOL for me....

I don't consider grinding weapons to be a viable accomplishment for the reason that you pop in the grinder and you let them game decide whether you succeed or fail. I prefer controlling my own destiny and determining for myself by my own actions and not a random number generator between 0 and 100 telling me whether I succeed or fail. Even a gambler has to know how to bluff playing poker so its not just all in the chips....and I prefer not believing in FATE that my synth will come out "Good" or my grind will work as an "accomplishment".



Hell...you ever have to throw in a Grind Boost to try to control the grinding percentage because of how many players are against normal grinding outside of a boost and that is universal agreement that its an unfair system.

To each his/her own and I respect your opinion. The actual accomplishment to me is farming enough (24 Pakudac[b]s and 26 rattlesnac[b]s) to synth and grind to get some to 10/10. And yes it would be the same with the way it used to destroy your wep completely....I was there for that experience as well. That is the only way to "accomplish" grinding a few 10/10's IMO is having enough to break :)

As I was saying though... paying to have a deffinite +8 just seems like cheating to me

EDIT: sorry to have gone a bit astray on ur PC but I felt a reason for the PC would make some sense as well. It still stands at 300mil is what I think you could get at 0/10. I wish you all the luck

Its fine...these threads exist for many reasons...The farming of 24 pakudacs and 26 rattlesnacs......is the accomplishment. ^_^ Thank you for the reply.

If they were to put base S's in the NPC shop, I think there would be alot more grinding outside the boosts on our server. IMHO, most people dont grind much outside the boosts is because the shortage of S+10's. During the boosts, I only used S+10's on the 9th and 10th grind(got many 10/10's that way). In the regular percentage, u have to use a S+10 to go to 7 meaning, u have to use more S+10's.

Also, how random it is to make a S+10. I guess it could be like making a 50%. I've seen a person make 1000 grinders and only come out with 30 S+10's. I've also seen a person make 50 grinders and make 20 S+10's.

I will say this though, grinding is still one of the most funnest things still on here.

Even after losing my Sn/g to the poor grinds, I still love the system.
Sure, I would have liked at least the Sn/g to go to 10, but that's the thrill.
You don't know what your gonna get. PSU adrenaline I guess.

That is what I mean. The purpose of Damage is to translate into the number of hits or combo sections needed to kill an enemy. I like to grind during events and last event I had around 40 - 50 S+10 and a Stack of S+9s going into the grind boost.

Of course, you make a good point Megalodon....which is an even better reason to put the S bases in the Shop itself given the percentages to attain S+10s and the risk associated with them out of events are high.

For some strange reason....I seem to have some luck making S+10s and S+9s..

Does this also hold true for the top rares in each category...like Agito Repca, Spread Needle, Adana Cannon...or do you put more S+10s in there because of how hard they are to come by if they break?

Now why is it that....this thread turns out to be a good one...In fact one of the better ones...while most of the threads in the main section....get stabbed at one point?

Aeris, I tried something similar when grinding the blackbulls stockpiled during StD...What stopped me was that I knew even at 10/10 I would still want Rattlesnaks, but Blackbulls as far as Rifle Design goes is my favorite...Looks very modern compared to the Rattlesnakes that look like something out of ID4 with Pakudas to match that theme...

Here is another question..

At what grinding level is an Agito Repca worthy to start being used? 4/10 - 5/10?..I have a 30% light one and I am so afraid of breaking it, but at the same time if I don't grind it...I doesn't do better than any of the other swords I have.....but it annoys me to have to wait for another grind boost just to be able to raise it.

5/10 should be worthy to use. over 1k ATP on that, which is better than most of other sword with 10/10.

Alpal helped, Zeek helped, and uh, a few others.
It's when I recently deleted my character, so I didn't have a ranged PM at the time :/

Well, I was on a mission.
I wouldn't need 9/9's. I wanted 10/10's.
That's why I bought/traded/ whatever to get as many as I did.
I wouldn't say it was a waste of time or meseta.
I ended up trading all the Snakes to people, and I got what I wanted in the end.
Though I still wish my Sn/g hadn't broke how it did...That's what killed me.
