There are two things happening this week: a new download mission and some passwords items.

12 / 16
Toro and Kuro's Phantasy Star Diary Download Mission
Story Mode
Extra missions / Parum
Toro and Kuro have come to the Gural system to play. Help Toro look for his lost friend Kuro!

While travelling through time and space, Toro got seperated from his "friend" Kuro.

Kuro has big dreams.
[spoiler-box]Kuro: I won't die until I've taken over Clad 6 and see my Chelsie-welsie one more time, meow! or something like that[/spoiler-box]

If you do well enough, you'll be able to get Toro and Kuro's partner cards!

12 / 17
Evangelion Passwords
The first set of Evangelion passwords will be revealed on the 17th. A second set of passwords will be release on the 7th in January.

12/19 ~ 12/20
Jump Festival
Some news about the about the Jump Festival was posted on the official blog (http://ameblo.jp/phantasy-star-portable2/entry-10411178725.html). This confirms the information posted by Shogai about the Anchor King weapon.

http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m143/z026445/o0480027210341016300.jpg

The Anchor King is available to those who buy a copy of Jump comics and take an exchange ticket to the Jump Festival and redeem it for a PSN code. These codes are limited to one per person so it might be difficult to get a hold of one of these. A similar weapon is scheduled to be available for download sometime later though.

EDIT: The Rappy on the official blog confirmed (http://ameblo.jp/phantasy-star-portable2/entry-10411068463.html) that the Anchor King will be available to download at no charge on the Playstation Store for everyone at a later date. Those people attending the Jump Festival just get first dibs. Whew.

Also at the event will be the PSO stage though this time the characters will all be dressed in collaboration gear.

There's an update on the disappearing room items bug as well. It will take a little longer to fix but things are progressing.

On a completely different note, according to the math over at Shogai PSO (http://www.g-heaven.net/topics/2009/12/091212a.html), PSP2 has sold around 375,000 copies so far. This is more than PS0 has sold (http://www.g-heaven.net/topics/2009/12/091208a.html) up until now. This data is for Japan only though.

since PSPo1 got 500,00 at the end, and that is just a port game of AOI

PSPo2 will have to do much more than that to count as success. (Because they invest much more)

I expect that they will be able to sell this game at least 1 mil before the game become too old.

You're missing a zero and anyone who knows how to work a computer knows how nasty that can be. Anyways, according to Shogai, PSP1 sold 664,660 (http://www.g-heaven.net/pso/topics/090825a.html) units in a year. Any "Best" copies aren't included in this number. I bought one so at least 664, 661 units were sold in total :p

and that is just a port game of AOI
What part of PSP1 is a port of AotI?

If Shogai's numbers are right, then in little less than two weeks, PSP2 has sold near half of what PSP1 sold in a year. I wouldn't got as far to say a million but 100,000 units would be a nice number.

-all the free mission in PSPo1 are just the same free mission in AoI, only new one are the form of DLC later.

-yes, that would be a good number to start, but I still expect it to reach a million in a year because they promote this game a lot. I don't think they even advertise PSpo1 much at all in the past. It surprisingly sold well and cause them to invest more on PSPo2

PSP1 buyers are already playing their beloved Monster Hunter 3 on the Wii, I won't be surprised if PSP2 does not sell as much as expected...

...absolutely everything? The only thing new about PSPo was the Helga and Vivienne boss.

...and the many new weapons and other items, the new grinding and rare drop systems, the removal of synthing, amongst many other things, the only thing it lacked was new areas.

That's kind of why I like to think of it as a heavily tweaked port of PSU. Almost like a re-envisioning of PSU and AOTI. It shares some of the basic combat model, and areas. But with different class setups, and a number of weapons and techs behaving in a different manner, oftentimes what goes for something in PSU doesn't apply for PSP.

I'm sure there are certain comparable versions of Street Fighter that could probably describe how the changes between the two are.

Or Pokemon perhaps.

Then why wasn't I saddled up with Laia for every single story mission playing out the AotI story again.

Er, what in the world was I talking about? :p 1,000,000 is the next step up, duh.

Edit: New info added to first post.

Technically removing an old feature wouldn't count as a new feature in my book (as for removed synths), although in the case of menu navigation for the cities I guess I'd make an exception. XP

Well, no wonder! I doubt they'd distract from PSPo2 considering MH3's lack of online content really, but I'd recommend them to others too, srsly. Oh, I guess MH3 online kinda broke with the series' "no grinding but skill" too, so that part sucked too. >_>

If Media Create's (http://www.m-create.com/ranking/) numbers are correct, then the PSP version of it is selling better than the Wii version so if there's any hunting of monsters to be had, it's probably being done on the PSP.

We need to tell those people that they can also cut off dragon tail in PSPo2 too :p

Mike
Dec 14, 2009, 10:15 PM
But you can't carve it once it's chopped off so telling MH fanatics probably has no use. :p Also, I made some ninja edits to the first post to represent new information from a blog post on the official site.

I'm still new to online (went online to see what it's like, quite interesting I must say). I know nothing of passwords atm. Currently at Chapter 6 getting owned by a nanono dragon. :/

I doubt I'll do the Fanta Quiz, since my kanji is still terrible.

Akaimizu
Dec 15, 2009, 03:35 PM
I still have trouble with the Kanji, so I'll probably have trouble with the Fanta thing, as well. I know some, but it'll take some more time until I'm familiar enough on the reading level required by PSP2. Of course, the kanas are no problem, as well as select Kanji.

I'm thinking of finding someone to play with in English and have English players in a room to themselves. I dunno.

I will have to say I have no idea about kanji and that I got two points in my only try, just because I was lucky in an answer lol what exclusive items are in that mission?

I wish I could understand toro and kuro, I just laught seeing them make strange faces and noises in their respective ps3 and psp free games xD

I'm having a hard with this new mission download. When I downloaded it, it's doesn't show up in my story/mission/extra/parum list, just says, "No missions are on this planet." The previous DL file was 192KB and after I download the latest this morning......it stayed the same size. Am I doing something wrong? >_> (I tried via Internet Multimode, official web site option, PC...)

I like to know. You really have to be on with your kanji to get through it with points. Problem is, I so am not. Not with that speed. My first try was a big fat 0. I couldn't even guess right.

All the answers to the Fanta quiz are on the wiki, sometimes I can match them up, I've made it to the bonus round sometimes using that. Needless to say I do much better with someone who speaks Japanese xD

I tried looking for the wiki, but I didn't find it. Any search engine I type that into, and it doesn't show me that sit. On my second playthough I got some special bonus round with good guesses.
