Cant add elements to weapons?

Obviously rare weapons cant have their elements changed if they have a preset one, however I heard somewhere on here that weapons like the Riverman Missouri and M&A33 and pretty much any other weapon that has numbers in it (cept the Yasminokovs) can be found with an element/even given one. Is this true?

I havnt even found one to begin to guess other then the vending machine one, anyone have one of these with an element?

Yep, it may be true.
I have a H44 Missouri check here http://www.pso-world.com/psz-items.php?item=173 and in that page it doesn't naturally have an Element whatsoever but the one I found had a Dark Lvl 4.
So I think the same goes for a Riverman Missouri if luck serves, that is.
