Do I have to re-play the story with the secondary characters?

I have finished the story with my Female Newman (hard mode, here I come!) and I would like to level up a second character just to try a different way to play...but it seems I have to go through the whole story once again to unlock the quest/clothes/equipment in story and multimode. Is there any way to avoid this? Anything I am doing wrong?

That's normal. You will have to clear story mode for all secondary characters.

At least you can pass meseta, items, and end-game clothes from your main over.
Eases the pain a little bit.

I was just about to suggest that. Find a cute outfit you want your alt to wear and just pop it on over. No biggie. Just don't forget to pay that character back! Oh hey, while we are on this topic how many characters can you make? Is it 5 or 3?

This is one of the few times I would CFW my way through to the end. It's really bs having to do story mode for every new character you want to make. :/
