ntsc gc/uk-pal memory card

before i buy a ntsc(usc)gamecube will my pal(uk) memory card work ie
will the ntsc gc accept the pal memory card and data?
dont want to waste money and time by having to start again
any help please?

pretty sure it works, because hardware like controllers or memory cards usually work worldwide.
but you can only have savegames of 1 region on your memorycard, for example if you have PAL games saved on it and play a NTSC/US game, the memorycard will be formated to US savegames
