What is Beat?

On this page it has a Beat modifier. Is it critical damage in this game or is it something else. Thanks.

Beats are just measures of time in PSO. At the top of this forum is the current beat time...one minute is equal to something like 45% of a beat...or 2.3 beats is a minute...something like that, I'm not so good on the exact math. Some weapons, like my Heaven Punisher, work on certain beats. Other than that...they don't affect critical hits or anything.

that's to convert real time into beat time, a way of measuring time universally invented by swatch. has nothing to do with actual gameplay.
