Hey everyone,
I've been wanting to download some custom grafitti for Jet Grind Radio. I don't have a phoneline let alone dialup. Is there anyway I can connect my DC to my PC and share the internet connection.

I have an assortment of computers ranging from XP 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. I can sacrifice one of my XP machines to go down to 95 or 98 if necessary :)

You could if you had the broadband adapter for the Dreamcast. Other then that, your PC would have to be a dial-up HOST, and you'd need some hardware for that I'm sure.

Yah thats what I'm talking about :P My computers all have modems in them, can't they just be used for the connection? And use ICS for the modem to share the broadband connection?

I tried the same thing a few years back, but the internet failed me with answers. In theory, you should be able to do something like that. But the problem is to go directly from the DC to the PC, not over the telephone operator.

Hm, you'd have to have your PC answer a phone number, and call that with your DC. You need two lines for that and you'd pay a local call.

*google* Oh hey?
forum post about this very thing (http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=67554) and the guide the same site has (http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/guides_getonline.php), namely this one (http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/guides_pcdcwin98.php)

You would need to mod your dreamcast into something like a 360 or ps3.

Check the last link in my previous post, it has the instructions. You need to modify a cable with capacitators, but that's all.

Getting a BBA is one way

Setting up a PC-DC server is also another way, windows 98 is recomended (on xp i only heard 1 case of success, in vista simply forget it)
This is basicly your dreamcast making a call and your computer must recognize the signals as a call and allow it to use the internet automaticly (computer must have a inbuilt modem)

Another option is getting the files on the computer and then using nexus memory unit and cable to transfer the files to it and then loading them on the game.

Finnaly there is the option of burning dream explorer

Among other things you can easily backup up VMU files to PC and vice versa, or download VMU files from CD
