I just made my first ranger today. Should I go with an all Hit mag? or Half an Half with Power an Hit? when i get to SH i wanna do lots of DMG :) but idk what a ranger needs the most. POWER OR HIT?

-Thank you-

Power. You only need 520 Ata to hit something in SH which RAs should have by Lv. 60. RAcast : Power, RAmarl : Power > Mind

Power, unless you use Mech Guns in which case you need liek 10-20 points in Hit

Yes a ATP > ATA mag is good.

You'll want mostly ATP, but don't disregard the ATA. Having a few hits miss using the Flame Hit PA means needing to waste time using it again, or pulling something out to finish the remaining mobs.

Overall, that equals out to slower damage. I'd suggest not ignoring ATA.

If you want to maximize damage, put all the mats in power and leave hit to Units/MAGs. Just my two cents.

EDIT: it seems that the general consensus is that 520-540 ATA is enough to avoid missing a lot. Just adjust your units/MAGs to attain that magic number. Then again...If you're using a fleshie Ranger and like to make use of Zalure, that ATA requirement might be even lower, since level 10 Zalure reduces enemy DFP/EVP by 10%, IIRC. IMO, just getting 490-500 ATA and making use of Zalure (if you're a fleshie) would be best; that's less hit units and hit on your MAG, thus, more power.

Meh, no problem then; you got the added ATP that'll make for the amount you lose using hit units (which you don;t need to much of). Also, you might have access to level 5 Zalure if you use weapons with that element (be warned, the effect might require multiple strikes to proc).
