Using offhand without holding R

Is it possible to make your default weapon the offhand one, while to use your mainhand you need to hold R? I'm leveling ranger and it would be convenient to use my gun without holding R.

I'm not sure how to search for this question, sorry if it has been answered before. Thanks!

The options menu looks like this:

Options:
Text speed (instant, normal)
BGM volume (= background music)
SE volume (= sound effects)
Radar map view (map, camera)
