Has anyone played this Dreamcast game: Segagaga? It seems to have some Phantasy Star character cameos in it (view down on page 1 and there are some characters on page 2). Looks pretty Japanese heavy texted. This really has to be one of the weirdest Sega games I've ever seen.

Nope, but from that page I've seen previously, why the heck haven't a dedicated fanbase to translating ever picked that project up?!

Everybody around here does love to say they can do a better job than Sega, surely. With that game, you can get your chance.

Pooling assets and budgets into a bigger release or just shoving menial games out the door to maintain constant profits, the choice is yours apparently.

I've seen the hcg101 write-up of Segagaga before but somehow missed the second page of screenshots. Loved the appearance of the Phantasy Star 1 cast, Nei, Rika, and um.. the claw-using android chick from PSIII (okay, so I never really paid much attention when I was playing PSIII just so I could say I played PSIII), but the parody games almost had me laughing out loud at work.

Sega Lolly (must've been the development name for PSU, amirite?!)
Darairama (how the hell did Darius become Dali Lama?)
and had to try especially hard not to laugh at Noes (parody of Ys) ..or should that be read Ns? rawr nevermind, I can never tell a ソ from a ン out of context!

Yeah, some of those Parody game covers are more stylish than Lady Gaga.

Okame Boost
OILAN KING
SPPON

Ace Wombat 2

Err.
Sega Lolly Championship 2005

Otalu Gear Solid

And that side scrolling shooter with the Sega system bosses looks like its definitely worth a try or two.

EDIT: I had posted earlier & put a link to something I was not supposed to. This update has removed any talk of that link.

Youtube says it has over 50 segagaga vids online, so you know where to have fun watching.

Im not sure if anyone here knows about this but there is someone who for the past 5 or so years, has been busy translating Segagaga to English. Im surprised the project isnt dead due to how long its taking, but Im glad its still going on. Anyways, heres the link!

This game looks like it was loads of fun to make. I'm suprised I have not seen this game, yet at the same time not so much due to it's rarity. I've heard of it before, but only once. this remninded me of it. I would probably get it just for the utter randomness. even with not knowing the language, it would be fun to still play and see what happens based on trial and error if you know what I mean.
