ok, so im hunting the resist, but after i killed him nothing dropped. so i went back to the counter and went to it again, thinking, i was gunna be able to go right to the second part of the mission. but it only lets me choose Ambition's End 1. do you have to go all the way through 1 just to get back to Ambition's End 2?

Yes. Once you are at part two and kill Howzer, abandon mission and you can start over from Ambition's End 2. If you go all of the way through to the end of the cut scenes after fighting Howzer you'll have to start over from Ambition's End 1.

If you're planning on hunting Vijeri / Resist, I would suggest leaving a character at that lobby and using a different character for playing the game for a couple of weeks. Until you find the resist or give up hunting it that is.
