Do you have any pets?

I'm just curious and I thought this would be a fun topic. Do any of you have any pets, if so what are they.

I used to have quite a few but they all died or ran away. I've had three iguanas, two turtles, 5 birds, two mice, three frogs, two toads, one lobster, and about a dozen fish before.(not all at the same time)

I miss my iguana, Superman. I lost him this past summer. To make the story short, I was playing with him outside and he got loose and ran up a tree. The biggest tree in my backyard too.. I spent the next couple weeks yelling at him to come down. Sad times http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif.

I really need to get another pet. It seems weird because this is the first time I haven't had at least one pet in my house. I'm thinking about buying another iguana and maybe a dog. That would be fun.

I have a lovebird named Vox (aptly named because she's a loudmouth, lol). That's the only pet I actually own. There is a dog in the house, but he's not mine (blue heeler named Gizmo 'cos he has ears like the creatures in Gremlins).

I have a 110 lbs. german shepard/akida, that thinks she's a lot smaller then she is. A fat kitty named Carie, after the Steven King novel. I live with two male cockatiels. One's a normal gray with recessive pied, and the other is a white-faced mutation with charcoal-colored body. Both can talk (say, "pretty bird"), but do it as often as mil lilly drops rare items. They can mimick tunes that I whistle, such as the wolf-whistle.

one male grey cockateil called Stella... my elderly neighbour (who collected cockateils) asked if i would adopt her 8yr old female cockateil (called Stella) and i accepted as i already had a budgie who i thought could use the company... anyway she gave me the bird, it was kinda small with an almost incomplete plumage... but i just guessed that it was just down to old age... over the first 3/4 weeks of me having the bird, i realised that it was steadily getting bigger and more colourful. turns out i had been given one of her baby male cockateils by mistake and "Stella" had been sold to the local pet store... the name stella jus kinda stuck...

and thats my pet story!

oh... and he wolf whistles as well! my budgie taught him that

Ya I know that. I live in a very small town in Northern California. the closest big town to shop in is 100 miles away and thats in Oregon. I had a dog when I was younger, not sure what breed he was. Named him Tuscan. Then there was my mom's dog that we recently had to put to sleep, it was half Poodle and half Pikanese (Pika-Poo). She had a bunch of different names, most of which I can't share here :/ (given name was Tinker).

I am apalled you would say that! I love ferrets and have done a TON of research about them (I have 2 now). Of course they are not native to California, they are not wild animals! They have been domesticated longer than cats, but California and their stupid state government calls them wild animals for no reason. I donate to a NPO working to legalize these wonderful animals in California and NYC because it is so important to me. Anyhow, as you can tell that this is a very sensitive issue among ferret owners...

Anyhow, besides 2 ferrets (Pierre and Lucifer), my family has a dog (Margaret, 1/2 toy poodle, 1/2 papillon), and a turtle named Spike (Spike is a girl, lol). And that horrible cat.

without flaming you completely, i will tell you, that they don't go looking for ferrets in California, but it works on a complaint system... if your neighbor complains to animal control, they will make you send your ferret to an adoption agency, or worse, exterminate your poor child...

i read a lot about ferrets in california, 'cause i wanted to go to college there, but instead, i am still living at home with my parents, brothers, and ferrets, lol

masterjoel, reread my post, i said nothinhg bad about ferrets, i just said they're illegal in california. i also think the law is stupid, but i never once said that anything apalling. hell i want a ferret, but probably will sneak in a hedgehog across the state border.

also, you have to go to select vets once you have a ferret or a hedgehog some will actually report you for having one. some on the other hand would do nothing but provide the utmost care.

hey that's what the government will tell you. i went through all this with my vet tech friend and vet since i was really looking into ferrets. but i already have 2 cats and 3 dogs and my current 3 dogs are a full time commitment since they're competitive performance and conformation dogs.
