So Capcom just dropped some Megatons at the SDCC panel.

First off, Confirmed Street Fighter x Tekken (http://www.destructoid.com/sdcc-two-street-fighter-tekken-crossover-games-announced-179779.phtml). There's gonna be two versions, Namco version and Capcom version. I'm guessing Capcom will be more streetfighter ish and Namco will be more tekken-ish.

I'm excited. Now we can pit Feilong against Law and prove who the beast Bruce lee imitator is, and Mecha Zangief versus Mecha Jack. Who the real ultimate robot is.

Then what I'm even more excited about is Street Fighter 3rd Strike (http://www.destructoid.com/street-fighter-iii-3rd-strike-online-edition-announced-179780.phtml) with fucking online play! Hell yeah, I'm assuming this is gonna be a downloadable title for XBLA and PSN.

Alpha 3 was the wackiest - "That was the most craziest fight I ever saw and seen, WOOOAHOOW!!!!" Spazzin' (used for KO sound in new 7 ex girlfriends pink wiggery witch movie with Michael befuddled man Ceras[sic])

But Backbone does mess things up in the conversions - only to maybe get fixed later a one time only fix. Dang it. Straight port please of best version avail (Arcade/Ps2, but XBOX and Arcade JP GGPO were only online ones, Dreamcast missed out when others got ported from that-SF2 HD remix was Dreamcast ROM Japan only and added onto by Davbvid Sirloinz), even if Justin Wong cried about Yun broken (Issei "[Genei Jin] Activate" fuckin Suzuki) when he used easiest 60% damage tappa tappa crouch medium/forward Instant Buffer anywhere - fishing for it all day Super Art Bullshit Chun Buns.

& really the only guy ever who still likes SFIII is Afro Yang ROMmel.
>While Issei practices most?

No more KO for you buddy, fight that street, uh floor, back

Vs Tekken Video

SFIII Ryu Donkey Kick Jugglin' and Tekken Tag / SFEX 3 stuff. GG.

Lots of chain combos too. That's Stupid Dope Dudley mixups.

Now the kids will finally play more than one game, "Can I really play Marvel Capcom 3 and SSFIV?!"

Yes, gawddammnit. Train them all, like you did pokeyman.

Oh god... yes... YES... YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!

3rd Strike is my favorite SF game. Fluid and beautiful 2D characters mixed with an amazing soundtrack. I had been playing it recently too on the Xbox version of Street Fighter Anniversary Collection.

I break that one every time I super jump with Elena or double jump with Oro. :(

But that would just be a bad thing, like imitation flattery and why did that Logan turn into a wolf/shoot missles?! (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2477290)

I think the fact that both Capcom and Namco are releasing games is awesome, but I'm genuinely confused as to how they managed to get the "okay" from the higher-ups on this idea.

"We're going to release two takes on the exact same premise at the same time! We can flood the market all on our own!"

The same concept as Capcom & SNK. Each company released their own version of the game/crossover.

I'm assuming that they figured that Tekken and Street Fighter are both different enough games, that they attract two different audiences. Tekken for the 3D fighter fan, and Street Fighter for the 2D fighter fan.

Whoa, what? SNK developed a crossover game as well? I did not know that.

(Let's wikipedia this.)

Huh. I didn't know SVC Chaos existed. My bad.

Okay, awesome. Let's get this crazy show on the road!

The Chaos game was kinda shitty tough.
And the Vampire guy in that one turned everyone into women. Even Akuma.

DizzyDi reported this to us.

Like what, Dhylec was in charge of that game or what man?!

";o kinky"

Only time Geese was never "predictable." But then looks like Terry Bogard shoulda been in SNK Gals fighters, not Iori in a mask. & apparently why someone did a color edit(you could change sprite colors and name - also save all online matches) and called that dude, "Britney Spears." Man, so when Terry asks you RUOK, that's not "OKAY!"

It was a KOF-based fighting game. Why is this a surprise?

(Harsh, I know.)

Now now, the KOF series isn't THAT horrible. But that game needed some major tweaking. Now SvC:MOTM for NeoGeo Pocket was a fun game to play. That had some nice balance to it.

Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5596595/ken-and-chun+li-versus-kazuya-and-nina) posted some gameplay footage:

(Oh also, I wanted to chime in and say that a XBLA version of Street Fighter III would be great. I've only played it a bit on MAME and I'm terrible at it, but even so I can tell how awesome the game is and it's definitely a ton of fun. Just don't expect me to play any of you guys, as I don't feel like getting destroyed over and over again.)

Hey it wouldn't even be by me.

Lil bro is a Urien juggle with 4 shoulder tackle hits master.

One jump mistake, dead!

Kazuya seems to be Jamaican too (lots of jobs joke).

President, Android, Devil, Hates his dad(dropped him off a cliff or some such back then?), somebody gave him cliche' scars all over despite the fact he's supposed to be strong and unbreakable, flames on his pants - maybe a biker phase there, halfway in-between Karate and Tae-Kwon Do.

But chain combos are always fun. not 10 hit memory mode after launcher juggle, but 4 or so SFIII style, minimal damage - not KO full health bar off one mistake.

Tag Team was in Tekken and SFEX3, one of those early PS2 fighters. So maybe Skullomania Salaryman, Ghost Demon armor Garuda, mercenary trying to kill Guile with "exploshives" and elbow blades and Scorpion "Getover here" trip wires, and that Shadoloo Pimp Cracker Jack come back?

Oh and Chuck Norris & Bruce Lee's love child, Allen Snider too.

Margarine double post! Didn't do that one on purpose.

Detailing the gameplay, Ono said that the staff is thinking about making the game 2 on 2. He joked that for someone his age, Marvel vs Cacom's 3 on 3 fights is just too much.

The basics of 8-way lever and 6 button input system won't change. However, Ono said that he'd like to add something that he referred to as an "assist" feature. He said the iPhone version of SFIV has somewhat of an answer to this desire -- a feature that lets players feel that they were able to do tough moves.

Regarding a release time frame, Ono said that the target is to release the game two years after its announcement. He expects the next timeframe for a major announcement to be next year's Captivate (a Capcom private event held every April in America). The reason for such an early announcement at Comic-Con was because Capcom wanted to do something for the fans.

Most of Ono's comments with the site concerned just the Capcom side of the tie-up. This version will likely come out first, said Ono.

Development on the two sides are being handled completely separate of one another. In fact, the staff has agreed to not share information between the teams. The Capcom side will be doing their own designs for the Namco Bandai characters, and the Namco Bandai side will be doing their own designs for the Capcom characters. They're also working separately on the gameplay side.
http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/07/25/sf_x_tekken/

Not sharing info? Or even attributes and things they want correct from eachother's series specifically?

Ono joked that the Namco Bandai team would be none-the-wiser if the Capcom designers made Nina appear in the game naked, and likewise for Chun-Li in the other version.PC version not confirmed, or uh, not necessary?

Stop messing around with them "ecchi jokes" Ono.

"We'd like to challenge one-another in all areas, including sales, and get fans of both series excited," said Ono. He also joked that they're interested in seeing which version will get rewarded a Platinum score in Famitsu.

Capcom and Namco Bandai Games see the just-announced Street Fighter vs. Tekken games as "competition" and not "collaboration", the series' creators have said.
