New Items/weapons?

It is ever possible to ever get Brand new items in Pso? I mean weapons and and items not just "GAMEBOY DOWNLOADS" in your quest board ,woohoo. Or would it be impossible because Gamecube doesnt have a hardrive and cant retain new data or anything? If anyone understands what im saying (i worded it kind of weird) reply.

Not "new" weapons, but I am guessing future quests will unlock weapons/items that are already in the game just no "released" yet.
