Stat Range

I was looking into the Meteor Cudgel:

and I noticed that there is a range for the cudgel's ATP increase. Does that mean that, like armours and shields, the ATP stat would vary between the cudgels that you find?

With something like the demo comet:

a range does not exist for the atp increase. Could someone shed some light on this? Thanks!

EDIT: On a side note, is a demo comet preferred over Meteor Cudgel or vice-versa in terms of versatility?

Variable ATP, if memory serves. Sometimes when you attack with the Cudgel, it'll add the highest possible ATP value to yours, and that will be your total ATP for the attack. Sometimes it'll add the smallest possible amount. Or in between.

I generally prefer a small range because its more consistent in that, you only have to swing a certain number of times with a weapon and get used to it.

Red Sword is another weapon that varies. Spread Needle, too.

It doubles the range of resta and anti. Does this stack with the FOmarl's resta and anti range bonus, effectively giving resta 4x the range!?

Support technique ranges stack. You could also even get 8x the range by equipping the corresponding merge barrier.

That said, variable ATP boost means the damage (not including critical hits) will be spread out and the bigger the range, the more inconsistent the damage. That said, Demolition Comet doesn't have a variable ATP boost, therefore it will do consistent damage (give or take a couple of damage). Meteor Cudgel, however, can achieve higher damage than the Demolition Comet. Most people choose the Demolition Comet because of the consistency.
